Ugh, it's always felt way too much like some odd propaganda push for the show to make it seem like Rümeysa was so happy to be enslaved that she'd beg to stay rather than return to her family. The Kösem series, for all its other faults, played it more real b identifying that the actual issue was that many enslaved into the empire had entirely lost their memories of home (which was purposefully done to them, in fact).

Rümeysa is a complete invention of the show, but, honestly, an interesting one, which makes me always a little bummed that the show did so little with her character, overall. ( _No_ , she didn't marry Mustafa and could never have had the title of "Haseki Sultan" since that was reserved for concubines of sultans, not princes. When the only evidence people can provide is telling you to "just Google it" it's pretty obviously a phony tale.)
