You guys are forgetting the fact that Mustafa made many mistakes and faced his father’s anger many many times, sometimes being naive, sometimes not protecting his boundaries and even if this slander wasn’t plotted, Suleyman had the information that Mustafa knew that there was a secret team working for him even though he didn’t approve, he didn’t intervene either. Janissaries’ support to Mustafa and disrespect to the other sehzades also cannot be ignored. These are all huge red flags and threats to sultan’s reign. He was already on the way to be executed, this slander just sped things up. And of course i am talking about the movie, in real history he made more mistakes that led him to his execution.

What about Hurrem's crimes, why were they gone unpunished? Mustafa made less mistakes than the other princes. It was so noble of Hurrem exposing and amplifying Mustafa's mistakes but sneaky concealing her crimes and her children's mistakes. Would Hurrem, Mihrimah and Rustem been executed for treason? What's the punishment for forging a letter on behalf of a prince? What about the countless murders Hurrem committed including the killing of Nazenin?

I honestly think even Suleiman knew there might’ve been a possibility that he was innocent but he just didn’t want to know. For a long time I feel like Suleiman has been looking for opportunities to be able to get rid of Mustafa. He fell out of Suleimans eyes years ago back when Mehmed grew up and instantly became his favorite. The only thing holding Suleiman back for so many years was both his conscience and his tendency to reminisce about Mustafas childhood and innocent times.

This wasn't Mahidevran's or Mustafa's fault, it was Syleiman's, which caused by himself, by Hurrem and Rustem and all those who supported them (Zal Mahmut Aga for example). Same with Ibrahim Pasha, his death wasn't his fault or Hatice Sultana's, it was again Syleiman's mistake, for Kara Ahmet Pasha's, for Lutfi's banishing, for Ferhat Pasha and his wife, Beyhan Sultana.

A beautiful foreshadowing was Suleyman laying in his own grave to remind himself not to be arrogant. Ironically that was him digging his own grave. Everything is about balance in this world. He tried so hard to run away from arrogance, he became the one who killed his family as justice and because he thought they were being succumbed by power. To me his arrogance simply changed color, very pitiful. He led a very sad life in this series. Everyone brought him pain. I really feel so bad for him and that's why he's my favourite character. That's why this series is about him. About how he let his love and empathy lead him into a pit of sorrow. I skipped a lot to watch this scene and I think this is where I end my chapter.

The fact that Piri Reis and many other statesmen had a coalition for ensuring Mustafa's ascension to the throne is enough to behead Mustafa. It was so heartbreaking to see Mustafa die like this..💔 But why we forget that before a father, suleman is Sultan a king. Mustafa grew with a thought that he is future sultana. Mahidevaran fed his little mind with these thoughts. That's the reason Suleman was insecure abt him. Also he never listened to his father. Be it bringing free woman into harem or marrying Mihirusa. Whereas Hurrem nvr brought up her kids with that thought. For her n her kids sulemaan was only sultan. I don't know the real history but may be Mustafa became close to hurrem's kids so that they will not oppose him when he ascends to throne. Moreover hurrems kids loved him so much that Mehmet was abt to loose his life for Mustafa. I m sure if he could have ascended to throne he would have definitely killed his brothers no matter how he said he won't do that. People surrounding him would made it sure. We have seen such things in kosem series. Also he didn't even attempt to stop activities done by his supporters to make him king. He was just enjoying being called Future Sultan. Don't know the truth. But It was more painful n heartbreaking to see cihangir suffer bcz of Mustafa's death. 💔

He enjoyed all the support & attention by first, Ibrahim, the sultanas, the commoners, the jannisories & those other hidden hands that only wanted to use him to overthrow his father. He didn't lift a finger when he found out about their existence. His mother preoccupied his mind only on the throne & nothing else. If he had a zero mind & concentrated being only a big brother & helped to fight those who wanted to use him to overthrow his father, none of these would have happened. Besides, when his brother died, he didn't cry over his death or even feel bad for Hurrem loosing his son, no investigation at all as to what killed Mehmet. In fighting Hurrem, he neglected or pretended not to notice the bad side of the mother. Overall, I blame his mother for his demise.

Finally Rustem, Hurrem and Syleiman, wanted to prevent an "uprising" of Mustafa against them and they only achieved a real rebellion from the army and the people by killing Mustafa, so they also understood that Selim the drunkard would never be their beloved Prince and Sultan and that he wouldn't be able to take a place in their hearts and minds. Being a Sultan is very risky, is very difficult to be beloved by the people and be respected by the army, Mustafa, Cihangir and Beyazid were beloved, Selim wasn't. I have no doubt God sent Mustafa for the sake of the Ottoman Empire and its greatness but something shifted along the way. He was basically doing a better job than his father in investigating and dispensing justice, bro was more loved and respected for a reason. At some point in history the heirs to the throne should have been able to act on their own initiative, this is how empires and kingdoms evolve, otherwise they become obsolete and eventually disappear. I think the Ottoman Empire somehow declined because the next heirs to the throne were too obedient, they even committed terrible sins, sacrificing many innocent people just because some sultans said so, very tyrant behavior if you ask me, all of this may not have been seen well in the eyes of God. Mustafa was a capable, brave, smart, experienced, fair, compassionate prince, he was thinking of a new form of government and had innovative expansionist ideas too, needless to say he was very popular among the rich, the poor and the army, therefore he had everything it took to make great changes for the Ottoman Empire to continue growing, he went through many trials, he was tempted until the last day of his life and despite that he kept his morals intact, also the timing for major changes to be initiated was perfect, unfortunately he was assassinated by the Sultan himself, the old man had the opportunity to redeem himself and be fair to his son for once in his life, but arrogance and paranoia blinded him. Actually everyone failed Prince Mustafa, perhaps that was the reason why the Ottoman Empire no longer deserved such a ruler.

how well connected was the last flashback when young mustafa and mahidevran talk about things where she says winds will take us to istanbul (mustafa will be taken back to istanbul after being killed to be buried there) then young mustafa says will ibrahim be there too (he'll be in the hereafter where mustafa is going to be soon) then mahidevran says yes gradma hafsa sultan hatice sultan everyone(both of which died and are in hereafter both loved mustafa more and will meet in there ) and she mentions sultan suleiman also and in the very end the sultan will die too and will meet mustafa in the hereafter ........ what a well constructed and well connected writing is done truly amazed !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
