It's fiction, which is getting more and more unrealistic. The production team were subtly reducing the superiority of Suleiman and elevating Ibrahim. Suleyman and Hurrem did not have pre nuptial meeting in Ibrahim's unkempt garden and didn't get married in his dirty garden shed. They had a massive palace to do that. Their love story and lives are truly amazing. They had been also very close friends. Also Hurrem acted as Suleiman's advisor on matters of state, and she had an influence upon foreign policy and on international politics. She made unprecedented contributions as both a stateswoman, and an art patron. You can get the best impression of the relationship between Süleyman and Hürrem from historical sources, not from the fantasy of writers, directors and producers.

43:52 I adore Hurrem! Such a boss. She never pretends or plays coy with Suleiman. She is brutally honest. She could have easily played dumb and acted like she didn't know her husband had written sweet nothings to his side piece, but not our Hurrem! LOL! Nope! She recited his words written to the other woman right into his ear, letting him know she knew (that he was a fool, a liar and a cheat.) Then she takes the time to tell him not to be fooled by the other woman, not to trust the mirage/dream. That she, Hurrem, was his truth. Hurrem was then proven to be right! Suleiman acted like a total fool throughout for having anything to do with such a fake, vapid, and skinny snake. He was cruel to his wife, allowed Afife to fool her, and tried foisting his side piece on his children. In the end we all learn what a fraud and would-be assassin Firuze/Humera is, she was such a waste of screen time, too!

Yeh, if I have to compare between the two worst characters of this show, Isabella and Firuze, even Isabella seems more appealing.😂😂😂 They could have explored more of the relationship between Suleiman and Hurrem without having to bring another woman. They could have shown Hurrem's political contributions. Firuze's plot was unnecessary and waste of major screen time, 10-12 episodes. What infuriates me more is the fact that the makers showed Suleiman falling in love with Firuze when such things didn't even happen in reality and 3 episodes later after sending Firuze away he recites love poems to Hurrem again.😂 🤢 I skipped all of their parts.

Hurrem is neither loyal nor does she love Sultan. She knows the fact without Sultan's love and existence she has no existence. Also I just can't understand why people support Hurrem so much. Mahi was Sultan for nearly 6 years. Hurrem became Sultan's favourite by just spending 2 nights with him. She is nothing but a cunning hag. It was Sultan's fault for not treating Mahidevran too with love and care. And coming to Ibrahim, Ibrahim saved Hurrem many a time. Hurrem wanted to dominate and destroy Ibrahim. Obviously for someone who had been with Sultan for many years this is something intolerable.

This is just a show! Its title should be Suleiman the Magnificent Light and gluten-free, not to mention the fact that it’s ALL about the harem. We see too few battles and a lot of keys from surrendered towns, when he spent one-third of his life on campaign. The feats of actually bringing back his army from the Vienna campaign and the second northern war against Ferdinand, not to mention his personal leadership to correct Ibrahim’s faulty decision to go for Tabriz instead of Baghdad first and having to cross the Zagros mountains under constant rain an loss of supplies with minimum casualties are just dismissed as happy reunions in TopKapi!

But it’s a real pity to throw away a once in a lifetime chance with such an excellent Turkish cast to portray a great sultan’s daily life and that of his family by cantering on the women’s mostly non-existent plotting, poisoning and other trivialities which never took place. It’s 70% fiction and 30% reality. There are two cases where Suleyman showed true leadership: getting his army back from the Vienna campaign with as few losses as possible and crossing the Zagros mountains in winter from Tabriz to Baghdad. They are almost thrown away in two snippets. Yazik!
