20:26 the way sumbul looked at nigar, yearning to spill the truth, was is it sympathy idk but it was so heartwarming so is how sumbul is taking care of the little child as if its his own, that is probably the most caring and gentle i have watched sumbul be. the way he he said "aye mashallah, how beautiful is she, just like her mother" TOOOOOO WHOLESOME!!!

watching and listening to how hurrem was abducted from her village sold to the tatars and then to the ottoman palace, then ibrahim from parga and now rustem from croatia makes me think of the plight of all the slaves back then. thank god we live in an age where such an humiliating and inhumane practice is abolished. imagine someone owning you, you owe them your existence, every breath you take, you have no authority over your life. some times i feel bad for how those concubines are humiliated and they have no option but to take it all because they got no other choice, they can't return back to their homes no matter how bad they want to. i still shudder at the thought of what hurrem, ibrahim, rustem and all other concubines must've gone through when they were initially separated from their families and homeland and SOLD to these palaces, not knowing how and where their families are
@KittyCatPaw992 ай бұрын
rustem became a statesman, ibrahim became a prime minister and hurrem became a sultan. those times were far more humane than the one we live in where an apartheid state slaughters children and women and old men and tears their bodies into pieces and the whole world watches silently. don't worry about people who lived in those ages, they were content with that change in their lives. you live in a far more brutal cunning world now

The development of Ibrahim and Hurrem's long-standing rivalry is my favorite to watch in this show. How they flip-flop between holding power over each other and manipulating each other. If they didn't have each other to fight with, the whole palace would be mass chaos. They are both equally cunning and resilient. Tbh, Suleyman is lucky that they both try to restrain themselves & their greed due to their love/loyalty for him because if they teamed up as slaves to get revenge on the Ottoman empire. The whole place would crumble into ash.

i dont know i just love watching meryem and okan in a scene. like they radiate power maybe because i perceive their characters that way, but they just act with such a precision that their screen presence is just wonderful. both of them really act well. this is one of the reason because of which i can't help but imagine how compelling would ibrahim and hurrem's alliance be but they were far too alike to make an alliance :/ ps: whenever these two yell in their respective scene, i have almost squeezed my eyes as if they were yelling at me lol 1:37:40 i'll take this as an alternate reality where these two were an great powerful alliance :") 1:44:38 another ibrahim, hurrem crumb lol hurrem's sarcasm

the moment i start admiring hurrem she has to say something to ruin it. i was spellbound watching her talking to those ladies to create that foundation and demand loyalty from mehmet and mihrimah but then she had to go say something that will influence suleiman against ibrahim as her highness never crossed lines and tried to get rid of ibrahim THRICE. atleast ibrahim knew what hurrem meant to suleiman and never tried to poison her or almost got her struck by an arrow. yes he did conspire to get her killed in the forest but that was valide's idea, never his. nor has he ever influenced suleiman against hurrem. he never tried to anything that would secure and power mustafa's ascension to the throne while suleiman was alive and yet hurrem lied here. suleiman always took precedence for ibrahim whenever it came to throne. he'd never conspire to dethrone suleiman! 1:33:57 YEAH, FINALLY! ABOUT TIME HURREM WAS REMINDED OF THIS. suleiman exiled and alienated mahidevran when she hasn't even done half of what hurrem has done. SHOW HURREM HER PLACE SULEIMAN!

I wish they would make up their minds about what tradition allows, first Mustafa, can't get married, then he can, now he can't agian.... which is it?
@chaiwithchips10 ай бұрын
apparently it wasn't a tradition. if you see osman ghazi, the ruler who established the ottoman dynasty and his successor orhan had wives, ottoman sultans got married but then bayezid I wife was abducted during a war with timur and they used it to humiliate him and the dynasty and therefore ottoman sultans decided not to marry so as to avoid humiliation and derogation of the women of the imperial family but suleiman married hurrem and broke the practice which was i guess followed untill ibrahim I. but im not sure how reliable and true this is :(
