Sultan Murad (Metin Akdülger) learns that Kösem Sultan wanted to kill him. Sultan Murad learns that his governor has agreed with the physician and sends Emir Çelebi's head to Kösem Sultan (Nurgül Yeşilçay). Valide Kösem Sultan, who learned that Sinan Pasha was a traitor, realizes that he has been exposed. Helpless corners. Bağdat’tan dönen Sultan Murad, aldığı savaş yaralarıyla iyice takatten düşer. Hastalığı iyice ilerleyen Sultan Murad yatağa düşer. Sultan Murad’ın vaziyetinin kötü olduğunu öğrenen Kösem Sultan oğlunun başında bekler. Ana oğul hasta yatağında hesaplaşır.

Seeing that room with the fake windows is just so chilling. Never to feel the wind on your face or see the sky and clouds, what a cruel prison. Surely there was a small palace or mansion somewhere in the empire where Mustafa could have been carefully guarded and cared for? Where he could see the seasons and feel the sunshine and wind.

It would have been ok if he was the only one, hundreds of Sehzades were living like him. Later the ottoman Sehzades had better living conditions, but they knew that they can be killed at any moment , what a terrible life.

Out of all the characters in this show, Mustafa was the true innocent. He never wanted power and always loved his brother Ahmed, even though he technically imprisoned him in the first place.

@@chandrasekharj6604 The throne and all those authorities which Sultans had, made them filled with greed and proud to such an extent that they didn't care if the executed victim was there family member or not. Sultan Murat's intentions were clear that he wanted ottomans to be leaderless after his demise, that's why he aimed to execute every single prince of the dynasty whether he was innocent or not. Majority of Ottoman Sultans were great kings, but terrible and brutal human beings.

Well, Ahmed didn’t have any other choice he trusted and loved Mustafa but Mustafa’s mother and other corrupt people would have used his innocence to dethrone Ahmed. And I think you know what they did to Sultan Osman.

@@nurrazan3697 in the series Mustafa ought to be killed because of the law of the fratricide allowing a new sultan killing his brothers to prevent inside fights over the throne. However his older brother spared him. not everyone was happy about it so they tried to persuade new sultan. That resulted in sending over assasins twice only to stop them in the last moment. Mustafa started to be terrified of his brother and he saw assasins coming for him at every corner; moreover his brother locked him up in his room as a prisoner so noone could overthrow him when he was gone, f.ex. on the campaign. That made Mustafa schizophremic. But above all, he did not want to be a sultan even once. Sultan saved his brother life but the prize of it was Mustafa sanity.

@@nurrazan3697 No, it was sultan Ahmed. After his death Mustafa has been chosen to rule,because the law has been changed so the sultan could be the oldest sane prince. Osman was the oldest son and during the fights for the throne Mustafa was overthrown twice. The order was : Mustafa ( locked after overthrowing) Osman (killed after overthrowing by Salime order - Mustafa mother)Mustafa(locked again) Murad 3rd son of Ahmed - 2nd son Mehmet was killed by Osman order.

Mustafa doesn't seem to be as crazy as he was portrayed at the end of the first season. In fact, he is full of consciousness of the outside world. This series depict Sultan Murad letting his uncle fulfill his childhood dream of sailing before he was eventually executed. Whether it really happened, that's just fantasy. But some sources pointed out that he died confined to the Kafes. Something which is even more tragic than being executed.
