Күн бұрын

In this cold process soap making tutorial, I show you how I made my Magnolia and Orange Blossom cold process soap.
I show you how to make the orange blossom embeds with their white petals and little orange centers, how to get the magnolia design along the side of the soap using my 'Tiffany Sides' technique and how to get the orange blossom branch all the way through the soap using the sculpted layers technique. Finishing off with piping the orange blossom branches and leaves on the top of the soap.
I try to give lots of hints and tips in all of my videos, so hopefully, you can use some of the techniques in this cold process soap making tutorial in your own soap making.
I hope you enjoy the video. I'd love it if you would give me a thumbs up and subscribe to my channel. If you have any comments or question please leave them in the comment section below and I will get back to you.

Disclaimer
Although my cold process soap making tutorials are of a tutorial nature, they are intended for people who have a good understanding of making cold process soap. The information given is based on what works for me, however, there are lots of variables associated with cold process soap making and I therefore, take no responsibility for the results achieved when using the techniques or methods explained in these tutorials. Cold process soap involves the necessary use of sodium Hydroxide (lye) which is a very dangerous substance. Before attempting and cold process soap making you should ensure you are fully aware of the lye safety procedures and always wear the correct safety equipment when making soap.

Mind blown once again. WOW! It’s really quite amazing to watch your process because you see things in such a unique way that doesn’t come naturally to most people. The way you can just figure out how to make a scraper like that to me is just out of this world because I couldn’t fathom doing something like that. I look at the cardboard cut out scraper that you made and it didn’t make sense to me, but to you it did and that just is so incredible to me to watch someone utilize their own unique way of seeing things… I don’t even know if that makes sense, Basically being able to see how you visualize things is a real treat, so thank you for sharing that! I can only hope to someday have a FRACTION of your talent.
@IDreamInSoap
@IDreamInSoap 4 жыл бұрын
AW, thank you so much Amber, Oh the scraper, yes that was something 😊 I think it got unnecessarily complicate for that little branch, but I knew I had to keep it level and then when I remembered I could let it touch the sides, hmm. Thank you for your lovely comment

Hi Lisa, I haven’t tried making soap dough yet and likely the only way I will is if I use any leftover soap. Thank you for that tip! Besides being overwhelmed by your ability to teach so well and make soap masterpieces, I am in awe of how clean your surfaces are and how careful you are in your techniques. You should see me making soap! Seems like everything gets slopped everywhere, but I’m having so much fun I just don’t care. You do inspire me to be way more thoughtful about my processes. Thank you so much!
@IDreamInSoap
@IDreamInSoap 4 жыл бұрын
Hey Steve, thank you so much for your lovely comment. Just saving a bit of batter and wrapping it up is an excellent way to try out a bit of soap dough. I don't think it's something everyone likes because it is pretty time consuming to make any little embeds etc. I think I'm just a naturally organised and tidy person. I do plan well before I start and the I just find you sort of get into a rhythm of things and you create little routine. Like for example when I pour my lye into my oils I instantly rinse out the jug I had my lye in, and half fill it with hot water and a squeeze of washing up liquid, then as soon as I have blended my batter, I take the top off my blender, wipe it out with a cloth and then whizz it round in the hot soapy water so that it's clean straight away. I also wipe out any jugs or pots as soon as I've used them, so everything stays tidy and at the end I just have a pile of clean wiped out pots to quickly wash up. But that suits me, and if you're having fun slopping things about, well hey, that's what it 's all about, having fun, so just do what makes you happy, if you want to be tidier try to get some routines sorted, but if you actually don't really care and just think you 'should be' tidier rather than you actually want to be, the stay as you are

I never thought about how to make different extruder discs, it is frustrating that there aren't many good usable discs. I always learn so many tips from your videos. What a wonderful way to make your magnolia blossoms as well. This is such a beautiful soap, I do love watching you make soap. Very beautiful bars, you always give me the courage to try something new.

So many techniques in one soap! It's beautiful. The part in your piped side flowers, where you're running the pink into the white, reminds me of a watercolor blending technique. Bravo Zulu!

Thank you so much, you are always so supportive, I really appreciate it. Ooh I've not heard of that technique, but then again I've never done any water colour so that probably explains it :-)

Seeing this soap on the Facebook group, I was amazed and wondered how you created it. Your video is so enlightening! In a former life, I had a cake decorating business and did all sorts of complex decorations that amazed people, but I never expected to see such complexities in soap. One more thing I need to try. Thank you for all your great videos.

Thank you so much Branka. I'm not sure where you are based, but I am in the UK, which for most of my audience means that buying my soap is not practical because of high transport costs. It's so nice you would like to support my channel, watching the adverts (30 seconds of the long ones) earns me a tiny bit of money, but it all adds up. Then leaving comments, thumbs up and sharing my channel with others all help my channel to grow. Thank you so much.
