Hi Lisa! I received a text from custom craft tools yesterday saying my mold is on the way! I am so excited to make my first batch of soap. Also, I have been looking at their kaleidoscope mold but after watching this video I am going to run to Home Depot or Lowe’s and see if I can find some pipe like you have in this video and maybe at a later date revisit the kaleidoscope mold. I need to make a video or find somewhere to post my pics of things I have working on because of your wonderful videos. I know you can’t post a video every day but I check every day to be sure! LOL. The one thing I would love to see is how you mix colors to get new colors. I have tried to mix blue and red to get purple or blue and yellow to get green but I never get the color that I want. Thanks for all your videos I really enjoy watching and learning from you. You make it seem so easy! Take care.
@IDreamInSoap4 жыл бұрын
Oh goodness me, how exciting. I remember waiting for my 1st mold from them. I'm actually waiting for a box of things from them too. I was due to go to the US for a soapy holiday so had ordered a few things from the, but my holiday got cancelled because of covid :-( so I'm very excited to get it. Yes do try the pip, is just guttering downpipe I use for these and it's pretty cheap for a good long length of it. He, he, I would love to be making a soap every day, but once a week if pretty well my limit, every now and again I get another one in. Colours, I must admit if I want a new colour I tend to do a few little colour swatches and note what I use, then I can repeat it and as for green, it's not you that finds it difficult. I have tried a load of times to get the perfect 'grass' green, and like red it seems one of those elusive colours for cold process :-)

HI Lisa! Newbie here - would you possibly add veg glycerin to the "curl" loaf to help with the flexibility? In baking, we say the pre-curl is so it has a "memory" of curling, like when you roll up a sheet cake hot to give it memory in prep stages of putting together a jelly roll. I just love when creative worlds collide! Thanks for another great video and all those killer tips as always!!
@IDreamInSoap4 жыл бұрын
Hi Jennifer. I've never added glycerin, so I don't know what effect it would have, you certainly could make the curl part out of melt and pour soap, which is basically glycerin soap

Hi, those are gorge. You definitely dream in soap. So if you would have started with a thinner batter, would the colors bleed together? I would like to see what would happen if it was thinner. Be safe and have a great day
@IDreamInSoap4 жыл бұрын
Ooh good question, yes I think the would have mixed a bit too much at the start. If I'd used a different fragrance oil I know I can keep my trace at the same light trace for about 30-40 minutes, which would have been enough for this pour, this one started to thicken after about 15 minutes.

These all came out great! I have a question about your soap dough - I found it interesting that you knew you were keeping some for soap dough and you fragrances the whole batch. When you use soap dough that is fragranced, do you find the scent stays in your finished soap you use the dough in (so you could potentially have multiple fragrances in a soap that aren’t what you “want”)? Or does the new soap overpower any soap dough fragrance? Thanks!
@IDreamInSoap4 жыл бұрын
Hi, thanks a lot. If I am just generally making soap dough then I don't fragrance it if I may be using it in different batches. I made this soap dough with the intention of only using it with a soap that I make with this fragrance.
