I've been watching your videos for probably the last ten years and they almost always bring a big smile to my face, LOL Really enjoy watching how much fun you have making the 2-liters and other things explode, much like I do! The anti-gunners, and others, always concentrate on the "uses" of firearms, whether that be "assault weapons", self defense, or hunting. I've always felt the main purpose for most people is just having a relaxing, enjoyable time on the range, whether it's by yourself, with your kids, Dad (mine is still with us and shooting together is some of the best fun we have since we both gave up working on cars in the late 80's!) or close friends. Just relaxing therapy when you get done with all of your "have-to's". I haven't been able to get out to shoot much the last year or so but watching these helps a little.

I used to believe that when a round cooked off in a fire, the bullet didn’t go anywhere. On Dec 30 2023 my house caught fire. I lost 70 firearms, and three thousand rounds of 9mm, and 500 rounds of 308 I had purchased for my Christmas present. The next day my neighbor got in touch with me, and showed me a 308 boat tail bullet that had penetrated his bathroom window. It went through screen and 3 panes of glass plus my bedroom window on the way out. It had zero rifling and was the same type that was in the new case. So the bullet traveled 32 feet, and penetrated 4 panes of glass and one window screen. It didn’t tumble through any of it. He found it laying in his bathroom sink.
@svbarryduckworth6289 ай бұрын
500 rounds going off all at once should be a lot more than just one cooking off alone. Ammo inside an ammo can should should explode more forcefully too since the can would contain the burn to let it build up before releasing.

@@svbarryduckworth628 it sounded like the 4th of July. Only one round was found to have caused any damage outside the home. @gaychinee The challenge.. Also carrying a large caliber handgun while hunting is a good safety precaution. A lot of folks seem to seriously underestimate just how much of the recoil in a firearm comes from the reciprocating mass of a semi-automatic action. Naturally with a revolver there's no such reciprocating mass, and with a big beefy boy like this the mass of the gun works in your favor to help mitigate how hard it kicks.
@mhmt14539 ай бұрын
That’s funny. As a firefighter, I can’t tell you how many structure fires I went to where people had ammunition. All the hunters and gun guys didn’t worry about it-because without a barrel and/or chamber to direct the pressure the lead ball might pop off, but it isn’t going very far. There isn’t enough pressure. The people who didn’t know anything about guns (like the reporters) would make a big deal about it, especially if a box of shells pop off, they go running for cover while the firefighters just shrug their shoulders. Propane tanks? That’s a different story, but bullets? Meh. They usually have them in a closet, drawer, or gun cabinet anyway.

I had one of these years ago. The way to eliminate case setback and cylinder dragging is to swab the chambers with alcohol and give the ammo a wipe off to. ANY oil in the system results in dragging and case setback whereas a a very oil free chamber will allow the case wall to grip well enough to not force the case head back. oil actually makes the problem worse.

I've never shot the 30/30 but do own a few of the others. The 500 S&W with full tilt hand loads can be painful (the bfr can take loads that are a bit rough on a smith). The 45/70 is comfortable with trap door loads and still quite manageable with marlin level loads. The two cylinder 50AE/50JRH is probably my favorite, plenty of power and comfortable to shoot. Think of these as ruger super blackhawks but made much more tight.. All are accurate and well made. They're worth the price difference over the ruger. Ebner

Example federal hydra shock long powder pellets wouldn’t completely burn and would get caught in the tight tolerances of the cylinder binding the cylinder. Hornady lever revolution rounds work great with no excess powder jamming the cylinder. And they are hot accurate rounds out of my 10 inch BFR. Wonder if 3030 lever revolution would work for you.
