I wish I had a dad like that, a good family makes all the difference.

It sure does. I shared this clip to my son in law. He's a terrific father and my little grandson plays chess. I couldn't gave asked for a better Dad for my grandson or husband for my daughter. ❤️

Yep, he makes tonnes of money so I was always good financially. I just wish he'd show me he loves me instead of buying me clothes (that I appreciate but i do not ask for). He hasn't spoken to me since may 2021 even though I've seen him several times since then. It's because he's disappointed that I haven't graduated from uni yet. He doesn't know or think that not talking to me isn't going to improve my happiness and mental health.

I bet there are quite a few more magnusses out there, who just dont have a good father to help them develop

Loved that story. Interesting that his parents didn't raise him to be a pro player, and he took this path on his own. I would guess that's rare for a top skilled player

I think that's the difference between pushy parents and supportive parents. I'm sure if Magnus had wanted to be a soccer player then he would have recieved the same amount of support.

@@tnaf4950 losing is how you learn..I went through a phase where I was working from 9 till 5. I 'd get home and play chess with my jobless friend until one in the morning..Then the same the next day, and the next and the next ......

Sorry I'm very much an amateur and I've been playing that move or a variation using that exact pin for years. Strange to hear someone so good comment like there is something unusual about it.

Dang. Was that chess set caught in a mud-slide at some point?

overlaying a digital board would make it a lot easier to follow than a pov shot of a real board (in my opinion. especially since nowadays the vast majority of chess is played online)
