@@EricSmyth4Christ Watch Chess24. They have Svidler and Grischuk commentating and analyzing. They are both extremely knowledgeable and Grischuk is really funny too. Jerry does very good work but you just can't compare to these guys in any metric. There's also coverage with Yasser Seirawan and Maurice Ashley on St. Louis Chess Club that is also better than Jerry's in terms of analysis and interest (they have people calling them during the boring parts of the game and asking questions for example).

What's funny is i don't find it boring at all like most people have been saying. I see two strong players neck and neck, pushing each other to the top of their game. The epitome of a matchup for the Champion title. If it were a complete blowout on one side, I wouldn't be nearly as interested.

@jerry68306 жыл бұрын
Winter sun Well, I watch both and subscribed them .. :) Here are few differences I observed ... Agamator covers bit more chess history , footages of matches/players along with reasonable game analysis and variations... Whereas Jerry jumps directly into the game and analyses it in more depth by showing few extra variations and tactical ideas for the viewers :) While watching agamator channel you basically get to visualise the whole Tournament scenario in general , while watching Jerry’s makes you feel you gained more knowledge... And one more thing.. If you scroll down to the comments on Jerry’s channel, you get to see more discussions on variations , board positions , doubts etc... which shows people here are looking for more knowledge, where the comments at agamator channel are more about his dog😅, speakers, players’ suits and emotional stuffs (good actually) which means people there are mostly like to enjoy the show:) .. So, If you are a viewer of both keep it up:) both of their commentaries are incomparable 😎

In the variation where the white rook goes to g6 (19:01) and the black king is on e8, cant the rook make a check and grab the e5 pawn?
@herzwatithink92896 жыл бұрын
I can't see why queen takes at 9:24 isn't a mistake because of bf3 from White. If Black took with the pawn he would maintain the double attack against a4, but maybe his king is a bit airy?

19:00 - the hypothetical presented with the Rook moving to g6 and the King moving to e8. Jerry states that there is no way to win a pawn. But could you not play Re6+ and after the King reacts you could pick up the e Pawn. Or am I missing something?

it can be blocked with the rook. rook takes pawn or rook exchange leaves you at a disadvantage as white.

18:56 Correct me if I'm wrong, but what if after 37: *Ke8*, then white rook gives *Re6* check? Can White steal a pawn by 39: *Rxe5*?
@major6006 жыл бұрын
At 8:40, I would've moved the white bishop to D3. Either the black King will have to move, or the bishop will have to be blocked by the F7 or G7 pawns. Bishop takes the pawn. It doesn't matter which. Pawn takes the bishop. Queen takes the pawn...but then bishop takes Queen. OR move white bishop to H5. Black now has to move the King or block the bishop with the pawn. Otherwise, it will be check the next move when the bishop takes the F7 pawn. The King could only move right or left leaving an opening for the white Queen to cross the board to H. If the King moves left. The Queen goes to H7. Checkmate in two moves. King goes to H8. White knight to G6, check. Pawn takes Knight. Queen takes pawn. The king is screwed.

Much more exciting than the 2016 games, then again, with the 2016 games many saw a 100% level game, no advantage almost anywhere, these positions are much more dynamic than the bog standard Spanish endgame openings
@Dave-C216 жыл бұрын
9:40 why not Nc4? Your bishop is hit twice defended once (by pawn), blacks bishop is hit twice defended once (by Rook) , but you're also on blacks queen. There's no check or unveiled attack from the resulting position, black would have to flee with the queen and you could exchange Bishop and Knight for Bishop and Rook?
@imamk886 жыл бұрын

1:11 could someone please explain to me that lost tempo thing ? Isnt Black also wasting a tempo by capturing that c4 pawn ? Black couldve played Nc6 for example instead of capturing c4, so why is it considered a wasted tempo when white moves his bishop again ?
@spegee53326 жыл бұрын
You're right, in a sense. Black is using an "extra move" to capture that pawn, and then White recaptures with an extra move for the bishop. However, if you don't wait for the bishop move, Black uses an "extra move" to capture the c4 pawn, and White can develop his bishop to c4 right away without having to first move to another square. it's not that Black has an advantage after that, but they can feel more comfortable taking knowing that they haven't lost a tempo.
@MohMoh-mw9ml6 жыл бұрын
@@spegee5332 thank you very much, i now can understand it this way, i myself wont capture c4 coz i feel like i am helping him to deploy that bishop to good square c4, i just didnt understand the tempo thing. 👍
