[Book] - A conventional opening move. [New] - Move played for the first time ?! Move inaccuracy ou dubious ? Mistake - Bad move that immediately worsens the position or Missed chance ?? Blunder - Bad move that loses material or the match Yellow Square - Critical square Red Square - Weak square Green Square - Strong square Green piece - Strong piece Yellow piece - Limited piece Red piece - Piece misplaced or lost Arrows green - Maneuver/Activity Arrows yellow - With the idea... (The future plan this move supports) Arrows blue - A better move Arrows gray - Stockfish Move Arrows red - Threat

@ Carlsen actually explains it when he is asked how he visualizes the board in his imagination. From which angle 2D or 3D etc. I believe when players stand up and walk around waiting for their opponent to make their move they are thinking non the less as if looking at the board. Depending how familiar they are with a situation I guess.

In a chess game. It is not the battle of how much you check or how many more pieces to lose against your opponent. It is a matter of how to sacrifice the queen or your best piece to win the game. Therefore, We win not by destroying. We win by sacrificing.

Taking rook with queen will result in queen get forked with knight.
@benjamin_w.
@benjamin_w. 4 ай бұрын
It would end up being a royal fork, forking his queen with the king. He would’ve still lost his queen, at least the way he did it he got a pawn too. And that was a strong pawn too.

In this game, Magnus wasn't late. It's the Armageddon tiebreak system. The player with the white pieces gets more time than the one with the black pieces, but they cannot draw.

@Zeronmcplay I don't have a definitive opinion, but it's a way to break the tie, like a penalty in football.

Why Carlsen had only 7 minutes and Nakamaru had 10 minutes?
@ChessPlay64
@ChessPlay64 25 күн бұрын
Armageddon is a chess variant used to break ties or reduce the number of draws in final rounds. The white pieces need to win, while the black pieces only need to draw. The white pieces have more time, with the difference varying by tournament. Armageddon can be compared to a penalty shootout in soccer.
