I did not understand (neither did Firo, not sure about L even though he said OK) Naka's reply in the first couple of minutes about "hiding secrets", he said in the old days Kramnik kept a novelty for a rainy day and Topalov spoiled it, whereas now .. now what?
@theWebWizrd3 жыл бұрын
The story was more of an interesting tangent that illustrated the basic idea that Levy was presenting, maybe to subtly explain for those who didn't understand the question. Hikaru's actual reply was that he supposedly believe that these days you play so much chess online and with computers that new ideas are exposed so quickly there's no point in hiding them.
@fidetrainer3 жыл бұрын
@@theWebWizrd you sure about this? Because he threw in there a "you play the move" or something as well as a "you want to keep secrets, sure", and got me utterly butterly confused. I'd say generally Naka lives in a permanent War Theater, applies cyberwarfare principles and is one of the last people I'd expect to give away secrets. Was the idea that so many (fast) games are played that someone has probably played your secret move?

Let face it. Even Magnus admitted that he is losing his grip to being vulnerable. It's not that Magnus will be lording over Chess for longer time. Wesley is the best chance if Fabi isn't up to the task this WCC candidate. But another years older and waiting would spell uncertain for Wesley assuming the World champion title. USCF need to develop more young stateside talents and fast!
@chillax91843 жыл бұрын
We're talking about classical in world chess championship. I adore Wesley but Fabiano is the most solid one out there for Magnus when it comes to classical. He just falls short in lower time controls compared to Magnus.

Im a fan of Hikaru, but I’m sorry, does it seem to anyone else that Hikaru is always a little TOO eager and over-the-top when pointing out Magnus’ poor play? I know Hikaru repeats himself ALOT when making a point, but during this stream it kinda rubbed me the wrong way to hear him go on and on and on about Magnus, making faces of pure disgust after a bad move, saying things like “Something is seriously seriously wrong. I mean, this is just unacceptable. What even was that move?! That was terrible.” It just feels like he’s getting in kicks while Magnus is down. It goes beyond objective commentary, stems from some place else...
