Nice lesson Magnus. I appreciate learning the 2-4 timing, ghost notes, and the A to E transition.

Do you play chop chords like this?

Hello, Magnus. Karl Payton here, from the great state of Texas, USA. Short answer to your question: Yes. I am very familiar with the 4-finger and 3-finger chop chords, but you taught me something new with the alternate fingering of the E chord. You are so right about the efficiency of using that 4-finger shape coming out of an A. When we consider that in a Bluegrass band the primary role of the mandolin is to provide a percussive back-up, the value of rhythm lessons such as this one becomes obvious. Your lesson is immediately practical. Excellent work! Thank you for what you do. Now, I've got to go work on that new E chord fingering!!
