1. Illusory (existing in imagination) vs elusive (difficult to pin down, capture) 2. Sanctimonious (trying to be holier than anyone else and acting pompous) vs sacrosanct (holy, sacred) 3. Providence (plan ahead for future) vs provenance (origin of something) 4. Circumspect (Someone cautious) vs circumscribed (set off or limit, bound around region) 5. Senescent (Old, process of aging) vs sententious ( pompous and looking down on you)

1. ILLUSORY vs ELUSIVE. ILLUSORY (adj): not real, although seeming to be real, based on illusion. ~ Any power he seems to have is purely illusory. ELUSIVE (adj): - difficult to find, catch or achieve. ~ I hope that these elusive candidates will all participate in my research (difficult to find). ~ She is so elusive and that attracts him (difficult to catch or achieve). - difficult to remember. ~ My earliest memories are so fragmentary and elusive. - difficult to define. ~ Some people find the concept of happiness very elusive. 2. SANCTIMONIOUS vs SACROSANCT. SANCTIMONIOUS (adj): - acting as if you are morally better than others. ~ He keeps harping on about how he did tons of charity work and how great he was to the elderly. Seem like a sanctimonious guy. - acting as if you are more religious than others, making a show of your religious devotion. ~ It's not unusual to see the sanctimonious leaders preaching about their religions. SACROSANCT (adj): - extremely sacred or inviolable. ~ There is a sacrosanct chamber in this numinous temple. - not to be entered or trespassed upon. ~ I consider my home a sacrosanct place. None of my boyfriends have a chance to get in it. - beyond change or interference. ~ His time with his children is sacrosanct (not to be changed or interfered).

thanks chris .... i have made myself understood through this video about those words i probably considered them as elusive..... but now it's broke my imagination about these words was considered being illusory :)

3. PROVIDENCE vs PROVENANCE PROVIDENCE (n): - God or a force not of human origin that provides protective care. ~ She has trust in divine providence. Therefore, she truly believes her suffering was sent by providence. - being prudent when managing resources and planning ahead for the future. ~ Even though he received the pandemic playbook right after he took office, his action showed a lack of providence. PROVENANCE (n): the place of origin or the earliest history of sth. ~ There is no proof about the provenance of this painting. 4. CIRCUMSPECT vs CIRCUMSCRIBE CIRCUMSPECT (adj): being cautious, thinking very carefully about sth before doing it, because there may be risks involved. ~ I am extremely circumspect when it comes to baking cakes. CIRCUMSCRIBE (v): - to limit sth. ~ The newly elected president is still highly circumscribed in his authority. - to draw a circle around sth. ~ I circumscribe The Big Apple on the right side of the U.S. map. 5. SENESCENT vs SENTENTIOUS SENESCENT (adj): growing old and therefore in a worse condition and not function well. ~ A tree is labeled deciduous if it loses almost all the leaves and the remaining leaves are senescent. SENTENTIOUS (adj): trying to sound sensible, important and intelligent, esp by expressing moral judgments. ~ This book is sententious and didactic.

Hey chris Just seen the meaning of the word Providence , which states that control of God over the happening of life events (good or bad), but you stated a different meaning, can you just clarify this.
