Thank you. I needed this. I bought this Magpul stock for my CMMG 6.5 Grendel lower that came with an Ace butt stock. I went to change them out a couple weeks ago but when I slipped the Ace stock back ( very tight ) and saw that little spring I quit. I was not sure about that spring. I knew what it was but didn't have the confidence to continue. Now I do. Just hoping I can do the job without kinking that spring. That rear screw has a hole for venting that is important might be mentioned.

@@davestrohmeyer-saddleupsho8009 30 minutes later and Got her done. Almost easy peasy. The little spring was no problem. But the magpul supplied rear screw was a scoche too large so I just used the Ace stock cap screw. It isn't vented like the magpul slotted screw but evidently that is not necessary as the rifle was fine without a vented screw. Also, for others, don't unscrew the rubber buttplate screws too far as then you will lose the 'nut' that goes in a slot within the stock itself. If you do that you will have to have the gun sticking down and straight up to get them aligned again. Not a total pain and doable. I know. My ball head and clamp will do that as the ball receiver has a slot allowing it.

That was actually a really good vid. I find it difficult to follow any vid that assumes basic knowledge because not everyone has basic knowledge; which is why we're seeking out basic knowledge vids. I'm trying to piece together and cost a chassis system and this vid certainly aided me in that. Despite the high cost of this buttstock, I'm going to hang the expense and buy it.

Thumbs up, Dave! Nice gun cabinet. Did you add the hooks that are holding the lower? Never seen a cabinet like that. Are they antler tips or grizzly bear claws? 😂 I like that idea of using an old belt for a sling. I suppose you had to trim it down to fit the swivel loops. (Upper, I meant)
@davestrohmeyer-saddleupsho80093 жыл бұрын
They are Muley antler double eye guards, just wide enough to hold the upper. Thanks for question.

@@janicejohnson1334 Stripped lower does require parts as well as assembly tools, such as punches, small screw driver and others. Suggest you watch lower assembly vids on KZbin and or seek assistance from a qualified source especially with the fire control (trigger) group.
