Comparison between the two most common brass hulls, made by Magtech (CBC) and Rocky Mountain Cartridge (RMC).
The RMC brass is in a league of it’s own and eliminates almost all the headaches of oversized brass, but it is very expensive and is an investment to purchase. Makes more sense in esoteric gauges and sizes! (32ga 70MM).
These will soon make some great dove medicine.

Those are beautiful shells but for $13/each that's a lot of money. I only use black powder in mine so the extra volume of the Magtech is actually a bonus and I don't cry when the BP makes them a little scuzzy.

I don't use standard wads in brass hulls. Only load those "old school" ... black powder, nitro card, fiber cushion wad, shot (bb shot), and overshot card. Then seal with wax or waterglass

I have trouble getting consistent ballistics using nitro cards and fiber wads (but with smokeless powder). I patterned a couple out of these brass hulls and they looked terrible. I’m guessing I’m not seating them hard enough.

The MagTech will last much longer than a regular hull, but the RMC hulls will be handed down to your son, and then to your grandson, and then your great grand son, and then his son!

That’s a great way of putting it! The RMCs are really impressive, can’t wait to finally shoot them after the new year.

Nice comparison of the brass. Will your shotgun take the 2 and 3/4 length? I thought 2 and 1/2 was standard for 32 gauge? If you just want regular 32 gauge shells, MidwayUSA has them, as well as 24 gauge. I know they have Federal in both gauges, and I think Fiocchi as well.

My SXS has 70 MM chambers so it can take 2.75”. I contacted RMC to see if they could make the 2.75” brass for me because it is not listed as an option on their website. I learned that not only could they make them for me but they actually had some in stock! Great company to work with. I do have plastic shells for the 32 (and 24), but they are all 2.5” so I wanted the option to have 2.75” for heavy hunting loads.

@@pc8649 That's cool. I hope the longer shells work for you on your hunts. I enjoy watching them. I'm still trying to figure out where to buy a 24 gauge or a 32 gauge shotgun, so I can't shoot these shells anyway.

I hear ya, they are difficult gauges to get a hold of. Wish more of them had been made and especially as a repeater. Who knows, maybe some day they will make a comeback! You could also try a chamber adapter.

@@pc8649 I have one for 10 gauge to 20 gauge. I didn't realize they even made them to go from say 12 or 20 gauge to 24 gauge or 32 gauge. I'll have to look for some. I really want the actual shotgun though.

Yes I’m curious too, I have an old 32ga and bought some plastic hull stuff from Graff and they are too tight, only chamber half way even with extensive polishing of the chamber.. Wondering if I need to go brass. Thanks
