The Mahabharata is an ancient Indian epic where the main story revolves around two branches of a family the Pandavas and Kauravas. Both of the two dynasties met at Kurukshetra War, the battle for the throne of Hastinapura. Interwoven into this narrative are several smaller stories about people dead or living, and philosophical discourses. Krishna-Dwaipayan Vyasa, himself a character in the epic, composed it; as, according to tradition. The events in the epic play out in the Indian subcontinent and surrounding areas. Including within it the Bhagavad Gita, the Mahabharata is one of the most important texts of ancient Indian, indeed world, literature. Our Mahabharata will start from the story of Shantanu, the king of Hastinapur, who was married to Ganga with whom he had a son called Devavrat. Later he became the Great Vishma Pitamaha. The legendary Character of Mahabharata. In our Mahabharata Series Pitamaha, Vishma will portray the entire story of Mahabharata and He will share his all his learnings and experiences with the audience. He is the narrator and all the incidents and happenings will come sequentially each of every episode.
