My grandfather sang this hymn every chance he got! When he was old he had dementia and didn't know where he was or who we were but he could sing his favourite song word for word and to perfection. God allowed his servant to praise him right to his dying breath!

Mahalia Jackson was one of the best Gospel singers. I grew up with her music and she stays within me. She was a beautiful human being in soul and spirit. When she sang, she sang to the Lord himself. Sadly she never married and lived alone. She passed away quietly in a room she rented in New York city. Her love of Christianity and her faith took her through life. Rest in peace our sweet Mahalia. You will remain forever in our hearts. God Bless.

Mahalia Jackson had a heart of worship which is something that many gospel singers of today lack. Singing about God and singing TO God are two totally different things. The word says that the anointing breaks the yolk. When you use you're gift to glorify the Lord His anointing invades your praise yolks are broken and bondage is destroyed.
