The meaning of drinking water is very significant...because everytime he was talking about the incident he was explaining about his daughter not that dustbin(he only used the dutbin story to cover up) so to control his emotion while explaining he drink water everytime

I loved that dialogue. It show what kind of man he was. Noble, courageous and treated someone else's daughter as his own and loved her like a true dad. She does not deserve a low life creep as her dad, but someone like Maharaja( a great king) as her dad.

One of the best part that sylvam never stole that dustbin it was his own that detail was too good it's tough to realize this point. One main symbolic part is when selvam rob any house he choose something and bring that for his daughter but she always refuse to keep that thing never accepted that gift and in the last scene when she give him the jewelry again which includes that necklace again she give back to him without knowing he is her father that was best detail again and last clip ofcourse that blood and her feet was again significance of red diamond necklace.

After seeing the accident, the protagonist drops the mother and daughter statue he held in his hand. Only the mother's face and not the daughters face broke, as you can see from the broken rolling doll. This indicated that the antagonists wife died and his daughter survived
