This track was recorded from the live Carnatic vocal concert of Smt. Mahathi organised by Parameswaran Kalalaya Foundation, Navi Mumbai on January 28, 2018.
Smt. Mahathi, is a prodigy of Carnatic Music. At the very tender age of 2, she started identifying ragas. A prominent vocalist, she was put under the guidance of Guru Mangad K. Natesan and is now undergoing advanced training under the tutelage of Padma Bhushan Sangeetha Kalanidhi Madurai T.N. Seshagopalan. She has received several awards including the Kerala State Award for classical music in the Youth Festivals, Yuva Kala Bharathi from Bharath Kalachar and the M.S. Subbulakshmi Endowment prize from Narada Gana Sabha. An A-grade artiste of the All India Radio and Doordarshan, she has the distinct ability to handle both carnatic music and film singing with ease.
On the violin, we have Shri H. N. Bhaskar. A violinist of international repute, known for his emotive playing, Bhaskar was trained by his parents and violin maestro Padma Bhushan Sangeetha Kalanidhi M. S. Gopalakrishnan. An A graded violinist of All India Radio, he has received several national awards including the prestigious Sangeeth Natak Academy Award and Best Violinist Award from the Music Academy.
Patri Satish Kumar is on Mridangam. Born in a family of musicians, Patri Satish Kumar is a much sought after Mridangam artiste. He was initiated into the art of percussion by his mother Padmavathy, a renowned violinist and had his debut at the age of 7. A performer and composer, he is known for his precise fingering technique and the fine balance of sounds. Trained by Gurus Sree Ramachandramurthy, V. A. Swami and V. Narasimhan, he is an A-Top ranking artiste of the All India Radio.
Chandrasekhara Sharma is playing Ghatam. Hailing from a family of musicians, Sharma is the nephew of Padma Bhushan T. H. VikkuVinayakram and Shri T. H. Subhash Chandran. He was trained under the guidance of his uncle T. H. Subhash Chandran.
Ms. Nisha is on the Tambura who accorded wonderful support and thus enhanced the whole concert.
