MAHESHWAR VLOG - Trip to the Capital of Ahilya Bai Holkar | Temples and Ashram Life in Maheshwar

After Ujjain we decided to explore Maheshwar. Maheshwar is a small town in Madhya Pradesh, brimming with historical and cultural richness. It has roots tracing back to ancient times however Maheshwar is is renowned for its association with the Holkar dynasty, and its historical monuments like Maheshwar fort and Ahilya fort ( fort of Devi Ahilya Bai Holkar ).
In this vlog, we’ll take you to a tour to some of the famous temples of Maheshwar, the iconic Narmada ghat beside Ahilya fort, the workshop of Maheshwari sarees which was setup by Devi Ahilya bai holkar herself. We’ve also narrated a brief story of Devi Ahilya Bai Holkar’s life, her achievements and her contribution to Hinduism.
The famous adi shankaracharya and mandan mishra debate took place on the banks of Naramada, right here in the city of Maheshwar. We visited the place where this debate took place and also Mandan Mishra’s home.
