The Mahindra Bolero stands as a testament to those who believe that new isn’t always better. On sale in India for 21 years now, the Bolero was introduced as a replacement for the Mahindra Armada and while it has been consistently updated through the past two decades, at its core, it’s the same bare boned machine that delivers the core functions of an automobile.
One would expect this car to be on its last breath considering its age and just how outdated it is. And yet, it remains one of the highest selling cars in India. This short video is not a review of the Bolero but a look at the factors and the people that keep this SUV going, and why it is that even with changing regulations and buyer expectations, this machine is in no rush to change.

I have one, Power plus zlx 2018 model. Completed 1.05 lakh kilometers from canal bank monitoring to 6 lane highways. One word for this timeless beast - UNSTOPPABLE. put whatever on it, it'll take it without breaking a single drop of sweat. Issues: uncomfortable front seats and rusting around front windshield. Pro tip: if you want to get rid of bouncy ride of bolero, put bag of sand of 70+ KG in the boot and feel the difference 😛🤣.

I have a Honda H-RV, and I can say that it is very comfortable but very boring to drive. During shifting this car was running like some solid SUV like a Mahindra or Tata as it was loaded that's why I drove this car without unloading even after shifting.

Main concern with this vehicle is that interior , instead of launching rebranded tuv300 , they should have launched a regular bolero with updated interior .

Bolero is a improvised version of Armada which was launched in 1992 and Bolero somewhere around 1999 or 2000 ....but it is still there in the market...and sells in good numbers also...👍👌

I've driven bolero di turbo 4wd from trivandrum to various parts of Himalayas 5 times and never it has let me down. I bought a economy muv and I'm very happy with what luxury and comfort it offers... Little bit of precaution before taking delivery of vehicle has kept rust away... The only major part i had to replace after driving for 157k kms was the universal joints and brake pads and shoe's...

Bolero is a style statement in rural areas. Politicians, social workers love it's image. The gentlemen in the video clearly stated that once he sits in the Bolero he doesn't bother about potholes or obstacles. To top it up he never pays toll. Easy to run and maintain too. Who needs fancy features ?

One of The main reason I'd say is because of the insistence of state government not to replace it with anything else, "had more money buy a scorpio if not order the Bolero" that's the government mindset in essence Mahindra is on a monopoly market with it's Bolero, we'll see this vehicle sold brand new for the next 10 years unless mahindra make a drastic changes or some company make something like it.

Full Bonet visibility, high seating position which gives you Best commanding than any car at same price point Full outside metal body and it needs only engine maintenance time which is also very cheap If you get any scratches on body then simply go to repair shop and give him only Rs200 only he will paint it then you good to go It's very simple vehicle with high reliability as well as Toyota's Car

Is the Bolero still really as simple as this video puts it out to be? Come on, it’s a BS6 diesel under the hood with all the electronic complexities of an ECU controlled engine and after-treatment system of any other Mahindra diesel car. And yes it does have an “OBD II” port. The phrase “it doesn’t have anything complex to go wrong” doesn’t hold good anymore. In modern cars it’s not the music system or the sunroof that breaks a car down! It’s the engine electronics and the complex BS6 after-treatment system. And the Achilles heel of BS6 diesels, the DPF can get clogged too. I find this video to be a bit misleading. Maybe true 5-6 years back in the BS-III era. Not anymore.
