Mahindra Major was a renamed update of the Jeep CJ3B, developed by Mahindra and Mahindra. It was first marketed in 2004. It has the altered "New Generation Chassis," which was a 115 x 60 mm steel box section rather than the 100 x 50 mm C-section used earlier. This chassis was first seen on the Armada beginning in January 1998 and gradually filtered into the rest of Mahindra's range. The CJ-3B design was also licensed to a number of international manufacturers, which produced a civilian and military variants long after 1968, including Mitsubishi of Japan and Mahindra of India. Mitsubishi's version was built from 1953 until 1998, while Mahindra continued to produce vehicles based on the Willys CJ-3B until October 1, 2010. Since 1969, Mahindra vehicles built in India have also been exported to other countries around the world. These Classics have created new roads by being authentic symbols of the spirit of adventure like no other. Young, adventurous India today is a true reflection of the spirit of Mahindra Classics.
