If that's not capability, I wouldn't know what is! It's bloody brilliant. The manual is probably a better bet for heavy off roading

Yeah. I like the way that you have more control in an auto when going over rough ground when compared to the manual. But this particular auto just isn't cut out for the full on hard stuff. Thanks for your feedback, and thanks for watching 👍

Great review. Honest and impartial. Add Blue is ridiculous. Yes, silly with all those pieces floating around inside. How’d it get an Aussie approval? Someone on the take? Agree, lots of mods needed. Still, good bang for buck. Might await a later model. Thanks.

No problem at all mate. They are definitely great value for money. Unfortunately the vehicle is let down by the very brand it's under. If Toyota was to build something of this stature and price, it would be awesome. The biggest problem with mahindra is mahindra. They certainly don't give a toss on what us Aussies need and require out of a brand new vehicle. Thanks for watching, and your feedback is much appreciated. 👍

You covered so many things people wouldnt know they needed to know.👍👍👍 I know my old mans primover never used a single drop of adblue in his tank. . . Even after half a million k's 😇 and admittedly wanting to By-passing adblue and egr disuade me for going new. Personally if i am going around a bend to i would occationally hold the auto gear to power out of it. So that is interesting to know with this one.

So am I right to presume that when you wack it in manual mode for offroading, manual mode doesnt function - i.e. it skips through gears when in manual mode? If so, golly gosh ... Would really appreciate a response if you have the time.
@grahamharris4wdadventures53 Жыл бұрын
The manual mode works fine in it. You can change gears up and down without any real problems. The couple of issues it has is when you lock it in gear it doesn't stay in the desired gear when hard on the throttle. And this leads it to jump up gears when trying to out of truly boggy or demanding situations. It should stay in the gear you select. Hope this helps 👍
@bravohotel Жыл бұрын
@@grahamharris4wdadventures53 thanks for the clarification. Pretty disappointing. I can't rationalise buying an auto if it's going to skip through gears in the tough stuff. Recipe for remaining up proverbial shit creek. Is there a manual option with the s11? From what I can see, it's just auto. Such a great value vehicle otherwise. And I love the looks. Not interested in getting a "bro truck" (Hilux and company).
@grahamharris4wdadventures53 Жыл бұрын
Unfortunately no manual option in the S11 as yet.
@patelliott8724 Жыл бұрын
Great, honest review. Every vehicle has its good and bad points. Not being able to hold a gear with the auto would be a big down point for me. Some of our trucks at work have DPF and some use Adblue, each seem to go ok. If I was in the market for a truck, I'd go for the Adblue variant. As much as I fancy the idea of an auto 4wd for a change, I'd have to go with the S10 for the tougher tracks. Thanks for showing us around the S11, it was very informative.

Can't blame Mahindra for the AdBlue. It's how things will be and they're not the only to need it to meet emissions, just as DPFs have become standard. When S10 supply resumes they'll have blue as well.

The cost of the Mahindra compared to the others still puts it way ahead. If money is no option, then buy one of the others. For me though, Mahindra is number one.
@grahamharris4wdadventures53Ай бұрын
Yes they are great value for money, until they break down. Then you realise the lack of parts, and bad customer care from some dealers is not worth the hassle. I certainly put a lot of money and time in to mine, just to trade it in on a more reliable landcruiser. But others have had a good run out of theirs. And that's the biggest problem with mahindra, the quality control is crap compared to major manufacturers, and it's a real toss of a coin if you get a good one or a bad one. Hope you don't have any issues with yours. Thanks for watching 👍

That was a really good honest user review. Pretty much all the points you brought up as criticism let’s say, can be rectified with some modifications. All of them apart from the gear box. As you said this would make a great touring vehicle where highway and dirt roads were the majority of surfaces travelled. One big downside for me is the AdBlue. @grahamharris4wdadventures53 Жыл бұрын
Thanks mate. Yeah he was kind enough to loan it to me for a couple of days while he was doing a service on mine. And he said I could take it offroad. It's a shame they didn't have one with a bullbar and tray on it, so I could actually give it a hot go though a bit tougher environment. Where I drove it up the bank to test the 4x4 system and the diff lock, I couldn't drive forward back down it because the front end was going to rip off it. So I had to back all the way down the table drain so I could get back off the embankment. Quite embarrassing in a so called 4x4. But they do respond really well to some basic mods. Thanks for watching mate 👍

This vehicle is not built for such extreme off-road purposes, cheaper by 2 or 3 times than other makes, it's built for farms not whole day bundu bashing. If you want that full bush driving then you will need to spend the bucks.
@grahamharris4wdadventures53 Жыл бұрын
I'd still put it up against a standard hilux, ranger, triton, or navara any day. Yes the more extreme stuff is for heavily modified 4x4's, but the mahindra is quite a capable 4x4 with a simple lift, bullbar and tray.

Toyota Hilux or other cars u mentioned, In india costs 4 times or even more the cost of one of this Mahindra car. So not right comparison. I am Not sure about their cost difference in Au.
@grahamharris4wdadventures535 ай бұрын
I don't really care about what they cost in India. I only compare with vehicles in the local Australian market. And yes Toyota costs more then a mahindra here as well, but the parts availability, country wide dealerships and the after market accessories outweigh any attempt mahindra have here. So I'll stick with my landcruiser 👍

Unfortunately all diesel vehicles will be going that way in the near future. Australia is nearly the last country to adopt it. You can't get away from change, but I agree 💯 with you.
