I have had my Mahindra Pik-up that we call Mindy since January 2021. We have done 40,000km in her, at least half off road. This is not a paid promotion but an honest opinion formed over the last 20 Months.

Hey mate! With you all the way! I've owned Landy's (still love them) Nisans, Terioses, a Jimny, Ford Ranger 2.2 ( ahem, yes... cough cough) used Isuzu's, Hiluxes, grown up with anything the Natal Parks Board threw at us and driven a friends Wily's cj2a 1948 model. This vehicle in 130000km of hard African Bush travel has convinced me of their never-say-die nature and cost efficiency. I'll buy another in a heart beat. I want a Thar as a second vehicle. I have the same 2:57 2021 s6 single cab ute used on property & trips away. I'm very happy with the ute. Not so with parts availability and dealer attitude. Recently got 40000 km service done at local dealership took a week. apparently waiting for a air filter. Was told they didn't hold any parts at dealership parts had to come from Coffs harbour ( to Lismore). I asked them if they wanted me to go and get the parts for them. They didn't get my sense of humour. Basically, dealership didn't give a !!!! . Broke a fan belt on a recent trip to Cape York. Mahindra Cairns didn't have one in stock. It took a week to get a belt to Coen. On a good note, 50000 service done by Bundaberg mahindra. They had all the parts needed and were very professional. Maybe because they are a small business that as far as I could tell only sold mahindra vehicles new, not a multi brand dealership. Great vehicle letdown by parts availability and dealer's who don't care.

Sway bar is the front suspension. The vehicle doesn’t have a spring on each side it has a bar going from side to side and the only lift you can really do is spin this up maybe 25mm. I looked at the efs kit and it promises 40mm front but only 250kg load on rear. I need 500 at least

It has driven unaided through Freelander and Duster swallowing bogs ( Splashy Fen Music Festival 202w) whether only other thing moving was a Ford County 4x4 tractor. I was thinking about buying one. I’ve read and watched a plethora of reviews on this. For every positive one there’s a negative one. Most of the negative reviews pertain to things that need to be replaced when they go in for servicing (ok under warranty) then there seems to be a lot of criticism about how long they then spend in the shop/off the road. While you wait for the dealer to get parts (from all accounts Sth Africa) because the vehicle distributors haven’t got the parts in Oz. I’ve yet to read/watch a review from anyone who has owned one of these long enough for it to be out of warranty. They all seem to off load them well before the crunch may, or may not happen. Even though you say your only problem was a radiator cap - they seem “too much of a roll-of-the-dice” proposition for me to outlay my reddies on 💰

We have two Mahindra utes at work, for some reason our company decided they would be a good 'investment' - besides how awful they look, and the obvious glaring stares we get when driving it through mine sites in WA (I wouldn't be caught dead driving it), both utes had serious mechanical and cosmetic issues. The first one had two wheel studs snap on us travelling down south, a cracked windshield (replaced under warranty), the oil cap blew out spraying oil everywhere, the centre hubcaps broke off; the second ute had a centre bearing issue, and also a cracked windshield. Perhaps it has something to do with the almost vertical cab design and no dash. It has no power, feels and drives like a tractor, is so poorly balanced that it always wants to tip rearwards when loaded. The turning cycle is abysmal, there is no such thing as a '3 point turn' in a Mahindra. It barely fits 4 people in it (the two in the back need to be children, a bit hard when transporting guys to and from site), you sit so far up that your back starts to hurt (not sure if that's the harsh suspension or just poor ergonomics). In through all of that, they were only $30k ea new for a '1 ton tray' although we don't trust that, and most of the issues were sorted through warranty so in the end along as our gear and staff are transported to and from site then the company cant complain...oh wait the second Mahindra snapped studs as well, when we asked Mahindra to comment they said: 'checking wheel nuts are not part of our vehicle delivery procedures'. There is a reason these utes don't sell in India, and that all Mahindra's stock is being flogged to Aussie's that think their $30k ute is going to last more than the warranty period.

First because they start at $50k over $20k more than a mindy. Second because my last isuzu was crap

Mate. Why did you buy a Mahindra car? It seems that you should have bought one of their tractors instead😂

I bought one because i essentially straight swapped my 4year old broken ranger . I have looked at them for ages and liked them. I could not find anyone ragging on them unlike the great walls etc. They are still a “truck” unlike all the other 4wd’s that are cars that go offroad. It is also less than half a replacement ford, toyota or isuzu so if i got the same 4 years I could not fail. I now have 45,000km, more than what my ranger had when ir needed more than $15,000 in non-warranty repairs

@@farmingandoutdoors What I meant was Mahindra makes excellent tractors. I seems more suited to your needs than a car😂. Sorry for the confusion. May I ask what happened to your Ranger?
