Thank You Faisal Khan -you have made my day. I'm a bit late coming here as I've been keeping a low profile since I bought the Thar (LX, manual, petrol, hardtop). Because people in my own circle have been cold-shouldering me (very nicely & politely of cours,e but its there none-the-less) since I let the heart rule the head & got the Thar . The fact is I've been having such a blast with the car these past few months, and I had started wondering why everyone else wasn't having a good time. You;ve saved the day! - what a marvellous car. I'm 72 and I've never had such fun!

It's time for tata to learn from mahindra. Tata literally have zero knowledge about powertrain even after having romance with JLR since past 14 years. Btw mahindra could easily upgrade to inline 6 cylinder by adding two more cylinders in 2.0l.

Petrol automatic goes up to 165 but due to its ECU setting it does not shift into 6th gear , Manual i think can go up to 170 or above Because manual is manual 😛

Ive the petrol manual ive got 14.3km/l on the highway i drove for 630.1km in 44.03 litres of petrol on highways crusing at 80km/h on 6gear @1500rpm having said that never underestimate the power of a light foot driving ... Once you recah at 100 thar becomes like you are sitting in a train or some local bus ... In city it varies as per the traffic it goes from 7 to 10 km/l ..
