I have seen a number of Indian reviews, but this appears to be a genuine one where the drivers (a) knows his stuff and (b) knows how to exploit the limits of both cars - not something that a lot of people can do. Well done.

Today i came across a thar douche bag on a 2 lane twist and turn highway in Himachal, while i was in my Xuv300 w8 petrol, he would constantly tailgait me, when given overtake, would overtake but would slow down couple meters ahead. I soo wanted to crush his ego. Couple kilometers down the highway i chased him. I guess he was doing max rpm at 5th or 6th. Gave him the overtake request, but wouldn't allow me to overtake and cover the entire highway. I somehow slipped onto the next lane and revved it at max at 5th and i suppose he did the same... i was so surprised how easily i over tookhim, the look on his face was worth the risk. The Man still wouldn't stop and chase me but was never successful to even come close to me anywhere near 2 kms. Dude probably went back home and took a warm deep thoughtful shower. Xuv 300 is a gem.

In the Thar. Suppose the rear had been loaded with some heavy ish luggage, would it have helped it to stay more stable through the curve? But honestly this is never going to be a fair comparison. You cannot compare a thoroughgoing off road tough vehicle to a soft roader crossover and nor can you compare it to a corner carving sports car.

This test isn't actually about safety. Just finding the limit of the car in a safe manner at controllable speeds. We have to stress that this is a test in a controlled environment. No traffic and plenty of margin for error. In terms of safety ESP is a completely repeatable safety measure for an emergency situation that regains controll of the car faster than a human could react. So its safety net you always want.

How dump..you are comparing apples and oranges. Both are built 4 different reasons. Thar being a hardcore and popular off-roader added some passenger car features for a niche customer segments who wants a bit of confort along with adventure. That doesn't mean that you take those features for a straight comparison with a passenger car which are mainly built for comfort. You have to understand the focus of xuv300 is comfort and safety while the focus of thar is adventure and exploration. Next time, how about a video on boieng 757 and a space shuttle?

Do you have a 2wd or 4wd? Even if you have 4wd , then how often do you use it? If you have a 2wd then the new Safari is more capable. I agree that dicor is rear wheel drive car and built on ladder frame chassis. But new Safari has multiple drive modes ( Eco, City and Sport). It also has terrain modes ( rough mode etc...) New safari has a better ground clearance too. City and highway ride of new one is much better. ( Better stability ,More power , more comfort , luxurious as well as sporty cabin , more features) The only thing which is missing in new one is the sitting position. Probably new Scorpio will be built on ladder frame chassis and would also be accompanied by 4wd. ( Stability is something which is required to be improved) A more powerful engine is also required to compete with Safari and Hector.
