Its called a 'stompbox', they are a just piece of wood with a bass pickup inside. They act as a bass drum. The brand Kim is using is a 'Bigfoot Stompbox'. I highly recommend them, I always use mine at gigs and it has the most amazing sound. Definitely check them out!!

I searched in the web for the stompboxes there are great! unfortunately they don't ship to my country (Chile, Southamerica), thats why I am looking for a good tutorial to build my own stompbox, but I haven't found a good one that really convince me. Do you know where I can see/read a tutorial of how building my own good stompbox that sound like this one? I am really excited with this "New" instrument for me, if you could help me to found something i would be really happy. Thanks again for your reply!
