40:40 As someone who likes to play games other than SF6 lol, I would love to see them spread the love. The FGC is really the grass roots communities of people who love *their* game, no matter how old or busted it may be.
@Tyran_Trick20 сағат бұрын
Brian, can I leave a suggestion? Love all the content, but between following your two channels and all types of different conversations you're having, it would be nice to have more playlists. You already have one for Trash Talk, but this could use one as well. I would love one for tournament breakdowns as well. And maybe another one for just general gameplay or something. Keep up the grind.
@Brian_F19 сағат бұрын
Not sure exactly what you mean, Extra Trashy is part of the trash talk Playlist. We just don't add it early when scheduling it the night before because then it shows up in the Playlist even when unlisted. We manually add it to the trash talk Playlist later. All extra Trashy should be there. As for tournament breakdowns yeah we can do that. It just doesn't really move the needle for the channel so it's a low priority
@Tyran_Trick19 сағат бұрын
@@Brian_F I guess I'm asking for a different playlist for just the interviews and extra trashy? I'm usually slow to catch up on content and I lose sight of what's what when scrolling through different channels. It can be easier to search for what to watch and what you haven't watched when there are different playlists. But that might just be a personal preference I have. It's understandable that it's low priority when the channel numbers tell a different story. I'll still be watching regardless, just probably completely out of order.

Go for it make some new friends it's awesome I wish I didn't work night shift weekends and everyday my locals are hosted I work it's tragic but it's genuinely just chill even if you just lose it can be nice to have a third place where you just vibe with people if you got the free time and cash it's worth it you can probably find some locals that are bare maximum 20 minutes away for anywhere 5 to 15 bucks sometimes even 1 buck depending if you're lucky

The biggest issue is that there were not enough seats at the finals arena at EVO, they need a new configuration to accomodate more people. there is more space to have more of the convention arena be the finals arena. Do it like Redbull kumite where the arena is in the middle.

I am fortunate enough to have Valmaster, Kilzyou Akainu, Alphen and Kusanagi at our local. With most of these players giving us a free 1 hour Masterclass each week before bracket, and some people still find excuses not to come. Unfortunately we can't force people to come but the nice thing is once they do make the first step they're hooked.

40:55 THIS! I play mostly SF, my fighting games playtime is probably something like 80% SF and 20% everything else. But I couldn't in good conscience vote for either SF nominees. 66A is a universal "I win" button, it's kinda nuts. Feels like a meterless Drive Rush if I were to compare, lmao.

i wonder though, if they fixed mvc2 guard breaks the way you suggest, would it make defensive play in the air too good? My guess was the reason you could only commit to blocking once was because they worried people might just super jump and weave around and block on and off whenever they wanted, but idk
@Raxyz_015 сағат бұрын
I think it was a mutual agreement. Even if SNK probably stands to gain more, Capcom and SNK always had a long history. And some of the developers at Capcom had worked at SNK before. Maybe it's just a testing the waters kind of thing for another possible CvS game, or maybe it really is the developers just wanting to revisit the old times.
@LEGNDARY_MIST19 сағат бұрын
Yeah no SNK is a boss in there own right. Capcom I’m sure were the ones to ask them for a crossover tbh. No SNK slander over here. Can’t wait for Mai though, been itching to play the character❤
@ToolsOfTheWeak18 сағат бұрын
Nakayama told Game Informer that Real Bout Fatal Fury 2 is his favorite non-SF fighting game and CVS2 his favorite crossover. He was the one who asked for Terry and Mai. There are even interviews discussing how they decided to do the crossover. Brian is just a delusional Capcom fanboy.

I think a big part of the lack of entrance for NRS games at EVO is the fact that we only had two years in between each new game's release up until recently, where there's four years between MK11 and MK1. Even then, 4 years is half-ish the amount of time SF and Tekken players get with each game. 7 years between SF4 & SF5, 7 years between 5 & 6. 6.5 years between Tekken 7 & Tekken 8. Technically T7 has been at EVO every year since 2015 until 8 came out, so competitively the community has had almost a decade with it. NRS players get 2 years. Think about how few competetive players made the transition from MK9 to Injustice, and then anyone who was late to the party got barely any time before MKX came out.
@YunisRajab13 сағат бұрын
Not sure about that. I think all the competitive players get the new games on day 1 and start developing their skills on them (unless they hate the new game). Competitive players aren't late to the party. I think the biggest factors are the prize pools and not liking the new game which makes them move to another series or just drop out
@haytham483719 сағат бұрын
I feel like Mk1 is a lot better than people give credit it. Like I didn't want to play it because some people online don't recommend it but after maximilian dood said he had fun playing it. I bought it and I had a blast playing. Now is the game perfect? No far from it. But is it fun? Yeah I would say so.

Brian I really appreciate what seems like ur dedication to represent the poor and working class grassroots perspective of the FGC. Not taking the corporate bait to make lucrative profit with these absurd mismanaged dumpster fire events (pun intended). Shoutout to idom and the locals talk too, with solid takes (but everyone mask up)! Also I feel there’s a big corporate effort to disconnect us from our history so they just sell us the latest thing. As you said, there’s a new generation coming up behind us who weren’t there! If ppl dont know the history, no context, no appreciation, and more easily taken advantage of!
@ToolsOfTheWeak18 сағат бұрын
Brian went full delusional Capcom fanboy. He needs to watch Nakayama's interview with Game Informer, where he says what his favorite fighting game is, or the SNK Special TGS Program 2024. Nakayama is also in that one. Not only Real Bout Fatal Fury 2 is the favorite game of the director of SF6, but KOF is bigger than SF in Latin America and China, so the idea that SNK had to pay to appear in SF6 is one of the most stupid things I've ever heard.
@Brian_F17 сағат бұрын
I respect snk's influence and quality of the gameplay itself, but I'm so sorry reality of sales figures and active player count tell a very different story. Not that sales = quality, but in terms of purchasing power and influence......
