Well, you’re right, but if Lucy Gray ran away, how could her children come back to District 12? We don’t even know if she’s dead or not. This version is more of a ballad than the original. Sounds very nostalgic, like I’ve been in the past. When reading the book and listening to this, I can feel Lucy’s loneliness so much. It’s like she’s dealing with heartbreak and feeling of loss, but she knows she must face it no matter what. Tho in the original, it sounds more of a dark folk song where Lucy expresses angst. She had a hard life and still needs to fight for it to survive. Her soul is good but she must do terrible things to stop her sufferings. Both versions show how strong Lucy is, as a person. Great job to both Maiah and Rachel! ✨✨✨
