Maid died of multiple injuries including removal of finger nails

The Lusaka High Court yesterday heard how a 14-year-old maid who was allegedly murdered by her employers suffered multiple injuries, burnt arms and traumatically removed finger nails.
This is in a case where a Lusaka couple, MARJORY CHANDA and her husband, SMART MUMBA are accused of murdering JANET MPUNDU.
CORDELIA HIMWAZE, a Forensic Pathologist, has testified before Judge VINCENT SILOKA, that the death of JANET was caused by multiple blunt impact trauma to the head, torso and extremities, due to assault.
Dr HIMWAZE has said the deceased injuries were as a result of blunt implements, adding that her body also had burns to the ear and both arms, which extended to the hands.
The witness has testified that the injuries on the deceased's body were widespread and that various objects could have been used to impact trauma on the deceased.
