They have toured the UK prior to COVID, and they've done several US tours both before and after COVID, so they do tour a lot outside of Japan. We (USA) have been hogging them for the last couple years, so there's a good chance the UK, and perhaps other countries, will see them in the next couple years! We're willing to share, lol!

This was their 2023 tour final. It was their Tenth Anniversary and they wanted to pull out all the stops at an arena show. So they hired Yokohama Arena and put on a marathon 3-1/2 hour concert. You can tell that they modeled the set similar to X-Japan's New Year's Tokyo Dome concerts, but better and on Thanksgiving (US holiday) weekend. I'm sure with Yoshiki's blessings and advice. Nine years ago it was the North American audience that kept Band-Maid alive and the Maid's know how to demonstrate gratitude to their fans. Yes they do tour worldwide, but Europe has been off the menu for the last few years. In May of 2023 I saw them play at an outdoor festival in Columbus, Ohio and at a small club in Detroit, Michigan. They are an excellent live band and they interact with their audience even when there are language differences. Their drummer, Akane, is always in the pocket, producing clever fills. Bass player Misa is incredibly talented and does things on her 5-string that are literally magical. Kanami is a creditable lead guitar, but more importantly is the compositional genius who leads the Band-Maid songwriting team in creating their immense catalog of diverse music and bunches of albums and EPs. Rhythm guitar and backing vocalist Miku Kobato writes most of the band's clever lyrics, while Lead vocalist Saiki Atsumi follows close behind (Saiki wrote "HATE?") In 2023 they performed 38 concerts in Japan and North America while planning their tour Final at Yokohama Arena, then they played a show in Hong Kong. They have a shorter 2024 schedule, but are playing 2-man shows with Incubus and with The Warning while touring halls and festivals up & down Japan and producing a new album.

And a thing about the maid outfits, Bloike: as Fans and Maidiacs know, Miku -- the 2nd guitarist, lyricist, founder and who worked at a maid cafe -- wanted to show that everyday working "Kawaii" girls dressed as maids in high heels while having fun and smiling could rock as hard as any guy band sweating it up in their hip, poor tortured artists "outfits"... and by showing that contrast (the Gap), it would generate interest, which it so successfully has done! It also represents Woman Power (Equality), which is an important theme with the Maids. Now they show up as Maids for all band business and interviews, etc. and have created a long-lasting, unmistakable, visual band brand. Very cleaver, Miku. Your diabolical plan for world domination is working, Po! Of course, none of this would work if their music and stage performance wasn't at such a remarkably high level. Band-Maid is considered by many of their fans and Maidiacs to be the best hard rock band in the world - maid outfits and all!

Check out Lollopalooza festival Chicago 2023. They gave them bottom of the bill opening spot at 1.30pm, and they stole the whole day. Full show up on you tube. They showed the Yanks , this how it is done. : ) camera work is so-so, as live editor didn't know what he was in for with with all highlights from all the members and solo swapping , but vibe was well and truly there . When they opned up with an instrumental, people were shocked, jaws were on the ground, and it just got better and better thru a 50 min set. This was their moment in the the sun, their Woodstock moment, and Band Maid nailed 9t. I don't think the people could believe what they were seeing. A landmark moment in their career. Booker WILL be chasing this band for return shows all over US is my bet.

We have yet to find out their tour schedule for the Autumn, likely will be announced in the coming week possibly. All their European fans are hoping it's going to be Europe, if not then it has to be 2025 surely. They played in the US both in 2022 and 2023 and no doubt they'll also be going back there again. They are playing a gig with Incubus shortly, they recently released a single 'Bestie' which was a collab with Mike Einziger who has become a friend of theirs. Later next month they are also playing with The Warning, a Mexican band which if you don't know them then they are also worth checking out, also friend of theirs.

Highly recommend checking out Aldious Dominator live Radiant A O East. They are the OG of modern Female Metal Bands they have 8 studio albums every one made the Billboard Japan top 100 albums list in the years they came out. Discography of about 80 songs, all but one Witten by the band and not one single bad song I the bunch. The success of Aldious opened the doors to all the Female bands to become successful as well.

Okay, names, pronunciation, nicknames, and roles, in order that they joined the band. Miku Kobato - mee-koo - Kuruppo, the Little Pigeon, the Little Engine Who Will - band founder, backing (and occasionally lead) vocals, rhythm guitar, principal lyricist, tireless Spokespigeon and PR machine. Wielder of weapons grade cuteness. Poker shark and horse racing fanatic. So determined to see her band succeed that she fired herself as lead singer (she decided her voice wasn't strong enough for hard rock), then went looking for a replacement. Learned to play guitar after the band was formed. Definitely eccentric, possibly insane. Kanami Tono - kah-nah-mee - Kanamincho or just Mincho - lead guitar, keyboards, principal composer and arranger. On stage, she's a savant mad riffer with a room temperature IQ and a huge crush on Saiki. In reality, she's a genius, and not just musically- she has a degree in economics with honors. A sweet, motherly woman who turns into a beast when you hand her a guitar. Akane Hirose - ah-kah-neh - A-chan, the Gorilla - drums, sequencing, snacks, the leader the band doesn't have. What you see is what you get- a cheerful jock with a huge appetite who burns off the calories murdering her drums. Completely unflappable. Frequently snacks between songs. Has been known to sign her banana peels and throw them to the audience. MISA - mee-sah - the Barefoot Assassin, MISA MISA MISA! - bass, booze, occasional wet work. Usually stone faced. Barely acknowledges the audience's existence. Always has a beer or a bottle of Jim Beam on her Orange amp. Originally, these were ways of coping with stage fright. These days, that's just how the assassin rolls. Saiki Atsumi - sah-ee-kee (but Psyche is close enough) - the Ice Queen, Sensei, Sai-chan - lead vocals, some lyrics, the "We're done" girl. Fashionista and train nerd. Regards her band mates, especially Kanami and Miku, with bemused exasperation. In total command on stage; hides behind Miku off stage (she's actually kind of shy).
