When the movie ended, I realised that Ajay Devgn is the unsung hero of Bollywood. The man deserves so much more respect for having such range in terms of playing characters from Bhagat Singh to Singham to Syed Abdul Rahim. Devgn has truly done what Akshay Kumar could never do.

I really don't understand what Indian audiences really want in terms of content.. I never felt Maidaan was long or boring.. The slow burn treatment was necessary so that we as an audience feel the emotional impact at the climax.. The football matches were shot so brilliantly and inventively you feel that you are actually in a football field watching the match.. The choice of song at the very end and the fact that the team even didn't realize that they had won! My God those last few minutes made me cry like a baby in the theater.. If this movie fails at the box office, I feel something is just not right with Indian audiences.. Bollywood has made some good movies this year like Laapataa Ladies, Madgaon Express and Maidaan yet the halls are empty.. Baffling! 😢😢

Nothing but tum football fans ka rndi rona. Nahi hai India me football talent, cant you accept this simple fact? But don't you think that the emotional song in the end was like a distraction? Means during the intense match that song just plays without even the players knowing that India won? I was so engrossed in the football match so that the emotional song felt like distraction Imagine it like a pure silence (no background music or anything) but the match is still going on and then the korean players get tired with every indian player being confused and then peter sees that India wins then that song plays it would have been the perfect scene ❤

Some are actors, some are stars. Some actors never get the glory, some stars can never get "acting role".. Ajay proved he can be both. His filmography is so diverse with exceptional range, and it shows that he is never afraid to take risk, only one of the "big 5" to have National Award for acting, but somehow still pretty much moves under the radar. Honestly tho, that vimal brand image has done him a lot of harm then good

Tour de force performance from Ajay Devgan! Man has given so many good performances but this one tops them all. The performance was not too over dramatic, subtle, grounded and the set pieces took my breath away. This is how movies should be made. Sadly, there were only 10 people in total on a Saturday matinee show in the theater. If this is not a hit, I will feel that we as an audience have failed.

The cinematography of this film is just beyond words, the way the visuals are presented, the way the football players communicate non-verbally and to see their spirit, their passion come to life just left me bereft of words. Ajay sir shines as Syed Abdul Rahim as a man who's done it all, A.R. Rahman's music elevates you and makes you root for Indian football team and when you've finally finished watching it, despite you being or not being a football fan, you'll only have pride in India and sheer reverence for Syed Abdul Rahim: the man behind it all!

I hope you are joking, India is a top team in field hockey (consistently), Indian wrestlers are medal contenders every olympics and world championships (with wins as well). Indian archers are among the best in the world, so are badminton players. Chess? Billiards? (pankaj advani is literally the worlds best player with 27 titles and 18 world championships, higher than any other player ever) Discuss Throw? Javelin throw? Do you want me to mention more. Just because you are not aware doesn't mean Indians are not good at other sports, India is weak in mainly athletics due to lack of training and infrastructure. This reflects in olympics as majority medals are in athletics and related sports. Where as in specific world championships India dominates the world in the sports I mentioned above.

Ajay Devgn's supremacy is not just in playing different characters, but also being able to seamlessly play similar characters differently. A police officer in Singham is different than Amit Kumar in Gangajal. An underworld don in Once Upon a time in Mumbai is different than company's Malik. Around same time he played "simple man" in HDDC, Zakhm and Raincoat, but you will not find even a glimpse of Vanraj in Raincoat or Zakhm.

I really like your content. I have a suggestion. The position of the cam could be better. It will be better if you place it at your hip level the best would be if you raise your chair. That ganite slab infront of you shouldn't be visible. May be you sit a little far back and zoom in or crop out to vet the desired frame in editing. I think its better you invest in a personal desk, some wall decor and an indirect lighting. It will do wonders. I'm sure you can do better job at camera positioning and angles take some inspiration from some of the movies you watch. All the best bro. 🙂

Your expectation is a bit overboard in the sense that you wanted more tactics explained on screen. 1)Did u notice that back in those days there were no substitutions which means the coach had to stick by his tactics even if it didnt work. In today's game 5 subs are allowed which allows coaches to change things up 2) if you had noticed the Indian team played out from the back i.e. goalie starts the play. There was also excellent ball distribution by the goalie Thangaraj an ode to modern day goalkeeping 3) In the do or die game in pursuit of a victory Coach Rahim puts out an all out attacking 4-2-4 formation which is a suicide formation as it leaves the midfield wide open when not in possession 4) in the final few minutes in search of a goal the team starts playing a very highline i.e. the defenders step up from the halfway line. You will hear the commentators mention it 5) after scoring the winning goal, the indian team defend for their lives putting their bodies on the line. They continue doing this not even realising that the final whistle has gone. This is a masterpiece tactic. Goals win matches defence wins championships - Sir Alex Ferguson What more tactics do you expect. The tactics were subtly peppered all over the film. Remember Indian crowd is not that knowledgeable about Football so he has conveyed all this with dexterity. The film is already long if there were tactics explained audience might have got bored. The fact that the coach himself recruited the whole team and had to do so every 2 years travelling the length and breath of the country in a train shows the commitment of the man. In today's scenario there is a scouting network in each club travelling all around the globe picking up talent. This movie is a biography on the life of a coach who almost ignores his family and gives his all for the development of a sport in India. He wants the country to play a game that is loved all over the world so that in the process this small country back in the day will get noticed. You also forgot to mention AR Rahman's work. Here in Tamil Nadu people complain that he is not the same as it used to be in the 90s. But guess what his discography boasts of 3 periodic biographies (aadujeevitham, maidaan, Chamkila) this year all containing scintillating bgms and soothing numbers. ARR is still roaring and belting some top draw chartbusters still. Ajay Devgn deserves all the plaudits overall
