This is why I used to really like this guy's reviews. Honest and insightful, doesn't stick to the usual hyperbolic popular talking points.

I would really want a St Anger redo and I think the guys in Metallica could easily do it. It's also not taking anything away from the original since it will still exist

(EXCUSE MY USE OF CAPS,LEGALLY BLIND IN ONE EYE) HE MADE A GREAT POINT ABOUT TIMING OF MAKING THE ALBUM.....THE GUYS WERE DEALING WITH A LOT OF INNER TURMOIL. I BLAME THE RECORD COMPANY FOR RUSHING METALLICA INTO MAKING ST. ANGER....THEY WERE NOT IN A GOOD PLACE AT THE TIME. I HOPE THAT SOME DAY THEY CAN REDO THE ALBUM. YOU CAN’T RUSH GREATNESS.

Im a huge metal fan and love Metallica but I'm just not a fan of this album at all. I've listened to it many times in hopes it may grow on me but it never does.

This was a perfectly average album. Not slagging it, not praising. It is what it is.

Look I will give Metallica credit for trying to do something a little different with this album and not just putting out another version of Reload. But that's about it. The songs somehow manage to be needlessly stretched out and over complicated while at the same time being dull which is impressive in of itself. This album is 75 MINUTES LONG! Did Metallica somehow just forget how to write good songs and decide to make them all just bloated? It's the only album in Metallica's catalog that I would say is straight up bad.
