Good reminder to never leave guns in your vehicle. It's the same reason I don't put gun related stickers on my vehicles - don't make yourself (or your unoccupied vehicle) a target.

I love how in all these gun grabber arguments they never talk about enforcing the laws we already have.. it’s always we need more laws, like that’s gonna solve the problems we have. It sure hasn’t in Chicago and New York City has it??

I bet north of 99% of polymer 80 and 80% AR owners have done a 4473.

Thank you for presenting this. It is important to have responsible law enforcement professionals support the reality of how ineffectual and unsupportable the gun control proposals that the extreme left is so attached to really are.

The right to make your own firearm is law in all states without serialization. Serialization is for government control through companies.

Love all your stuff, but I think they’re more prevalent than you think. My local PD has an instagram where they post confiscated guns from prohibited persons, crime scenes, etc and probably 30-40% of them are p80s (many with solvent trap suppressors haha).

In the year since I posted this, the mainstream media has been beating the fear drums of “ghost guns”. I speculate (no data) that this may be driving an up-tic in criminal use. It is almost like the media has been advertising the benefit of 80% guns for criminals. However, they are also becoming more popular with enthusiasts, that means a higher percentage are probably being stolen and entering into use by criminals.

Great video and I learned something because I didn’t know there was a 80% pistol.

I thought about doing this but in the end it just didn't appeal to me. I was looking at putting together a Glock 19 but after researching it and finding the holster compatibility problems I decided against it. As for ARs, don't really have to appropriate tools to do metal. Besides, lowers are cheap enough anyway. Or at least they were when I put together my last one. If you want to build something off of an 80% percent lower then go for it. For some the lack of going through an FFL is appealing to them so there isn't a record that the ATF can trace back to them. I get that and don't really blame those people especially in todays political climate. It's none of the governments business what I own or how many of them I do own. I'm not the one that needs regulating, the government has become the one that needs regulating.

"For public safety" is the favorite excuse tyrannical governments use to restrict normal people from owning guns. Here in Europe, we have EU using the same excuse to pass directives with more restrictions and pointless laws (seemingly taking a lot from US' laws, SBR laws in particular) under the guise of "preventing terrorists" from accessing the guns. Except terrorists smuggle in their guns from the east, they don't really use legal guns...

Great presentation! Puting violent criminals in prison one time and keeping them there...seems like a better strategy to reduce crime.

When you mentioned not locking it in your car. How would you recommend to do it if you can't carry into your work/other places, but it can be left in the car while at work/other places?

"Without any manufacturing tools" Sorry, John. Gotta disagree here. We often think of tools...manufacturing tools...as being big, complex, expensive. But that is not always the case...and it is an arbitrary distinction. A drill press can be cheap or expensive. Both drill holes, and manufacturers use both. Files, routers, CNC, 3d printing. At some point in history, each was exclusive to those with significant means. They are all cheap now. I can manufacture things in my garage that would have been difficult or impossible for the biggest corporation 100 years ago. Point being- dont make a distinction about tools or difficulty. It's a trap.

Very true but that very comment just goes to show that concern by anti-gunners about 80% lowers is really a moot point because one doesn't even need a 80% lower but rather just a chunk of aluminum or a spool of 3d print filament. Basically, why even give a shit about 80% lowers when one can easily these days make from scratch.
