Those mice sound really good Barr. If I didn’t have my EV I would pick that set up for sure. One thing I don’t like about them and my EV for that matter is the power button on the bottom. At purchase I didn’t think anything of it but after using it over and over I wish there was an easier way to mute the mic. I run everything through an 8 channel mixer and I have the ability to mute the channels thankfully. It would be better if there a second button on the body that you could press to mute it but otherwise no complaints. When you do your live testing see how easy it is to mute and if your client & their guests understand it.

Chris Arias depends on what effect you want to accomplish. 2 Jelly -Gressors can be picked up for $100 on eBay. It'll give you some dance fx and some ambient lighting around your rig with proper placement/trussing. 2 Mini chauvet light strips can light up a small gym/ room well enough, on the right program, for under $200.

Short and simple wireless mic test. A full review would include testing at 30-60 foot range with no dropouts and then a range test to 100 yards where dropouts and fading are expected. Review of the frequency agility if any should be noted. As the VHF and UHF spectrum is reallocated and broadcasters are moved, mics using "white space" and not frequency agile, become obsolete in areas where the TV broadcast, or emergency services uses the same frequencies. Before buying any wireless mic, Find out what band it is, what frequency or frequencies it uses in the band, and what broadcast frequencies are in use. At the last frequency allocation by the FCC, about 1/3 of the wireless mics at the church got static. Found them all within the frequency bands of a new TV station. The mics were frequency agile and were assigned to other white space. The days of buying wireless mics and just use them are over. They mostly share spectrum and have to find the smaller white spaces to operate.
