Nice job. I recommend purchasing a can of black plastic dip spray and spraying the top of the pick and pluck foamso is it seals it and doesn't breakdown with time. You can still alter it in the future if you need additional spaces but the plastic dip will create a bonded layer on the top.

Might be useful to cut out some holes in the rear bracket for XLR’s so that you can just plug in your mics from there. Great job on the build.
@DJBess-te1jy22 күн бұрын
Exactly what I've been researching. Placing the antenna rack on the back makes no need for a taller (more bulkier) rack by needing an extra space.
@wildstyle5094 жыл бұрын
Nice work! I have something very similar, I have a set of handhelds and lapel set. I also have my dj copilot light controller installed and a slide out drawer too. Now, inside the drawer, I have a mini mixer that controls my mics, I have a section for both handhelds and for my lapel packs. In the back, I mounted a surge protector and connected all power to it. So when it comes time to setup, I pull out the power cord, XLR outs to my power speakers. In the mixer area, I connect my iPad/iPhone/dj controller. Been using it for 4 years now, with no issues.

Why didn't you get a combiner antenna cable so you only have to use 2 antennas instead of all 4?

dint know that was a thing lol

@RightOnQEntertainment5 жыл бұрын
Yep. I was thinking the same thing. That way you wouldn’t need to disconnect your antennas. It daisy connects the antenna cables so you would only need 2 antennas for both receivers. I have the Shure SLX microphones and they have much smaller antennas. I can fit all 4 on my rack case, but in your situation with the larger antennas I would use the antenna combiner to run only 2.
@mashzmash5 жыл бұрын
Agreed. I just built a very similar case for QLX-D mics. Got an RF Venue DISTRO4 to combine antennas and power receivers in a single 1U device. I chose to mount the antennas on the front because the rear is usually facing away from the stage, but I usually hook up an external paddle diversity antenna anyway. Also, go for panel connectors in the back so you have nice labeled XLR outs for each mic. Since the QLX-Ds are networkable, you can also put ethercon connectors on the back if you want to use Wireless Workbench to coordinate/scan. I also opted to put a locking powercon connector on the back panel as well.

I would have had both cable outputs as XLR but then have a few adapters in the draw of XLR-to-1/4" TS Jack variants, so you have even more flexibility. And those sort of adapters are always handy to have about anyway for any situations where you end up needing to have some.

Great video! I'm currently doing something similar with my wedding ceremony system and I'm considering that same rack case. A bit of constructive criticism though... You may want to figure out a way of cushioning your tripod or whatever your camera is mounted to. Every time you throw something down, the camera vibration is very distracting. I've noticed this on a few of your videos.
