Enjoying your video inside by the air-conditioner, nearly 40°C outside in sunny South Australia, drinking home brewed ice cold apple cider, just need to stay away from Aliexpress, never know what might turn up in the post after a few cold ones.

You could join the arrows together, then sequence them with a CD44017 and 555 timer ;)
@pileofstuffКүн бұрын
That would be a fun little project.

Of course turn signals... police ones then?

Don’t believe the ‘1%’ tolerance claim on the resistors. I’ve had some that were quite a bit from being 1% precision. I always check them with a meter before use, just in case.

When I was sorting them, I checked several with a meter and they were surprisingly close.

You'll prolly see more and more courier deliveries over the alternatives, we're faster than USPS and cheaper than UPS/FedEx.

I'm currently watching your video in this series backwards. I'm at video 110. It's interesting seeing your desktop (tools and stuff) change . Really enjoying all your videos.

Vero board and amplifiers are always useful. And you can never have too many resistors.

Those cameras go well with an OctoPrint rig. Have a small quantity of those Class D chips. Made a little 4-channel thing for my desktop station. Amazing, that you can stress them with medium sized speakers, and they don't get hot.

That naked LED was almost invisible on screen, the other one was red/orange more than red, but will still be handy. You have quite a collection of them now.
@pileofstuffКүн бұрын
Yeah, if any more come in, I'll have to move them to a bigger storage drawer.

There are tools but they all suck - also the OEM clips are much easier to remove than the aftermarket cheapies - the cheapies break incredibly easily!

So you're saying you don't want me to share a bunch of these ones with you? 😁

I'm not a lawyer but I'm pretty sure it's highly illegal to install those LED signals behind the side mirrors, even if they are not "detectable" by the authorities when off and covertly installed. Depending on your local traffic laws, you may have the possibility to make ("two chevrons animated" or not) blinking turn signals for your bike (or bicycle with a power bank) either on a vest or a backpack. 🤔

I'm sure it's illegal somewhere (though probably not China). I wasn't planning to use them as the manufacturer intended, so that's not a concern for me.

Is that T10 without a phosphor a factory defect? Seems too dim to be a blue one

That's my best guess.

I never understood what is the deal with the values with almost every resistor kit, more specifically why 200/220 and 2/2.2, instead they could include the 7.5/75/750 and/or 8.2/82/820 values multiples which would be way more useful, seems like who made those kits didn't understood very well the purpose of a resistor.
@pileofstuff3 сағат бұрын
I think they're trying to go halfway between the E3 and E6 series of resistors without understanding the "why" part of the existence of those. Still, I now have more options than I'll likely ever need.

Is there such a thing as Google Translate for the color vision impaired? Aim your phone at the resistor and the colors would be annotated.
@ParallelLogicКүн бұрын
At a minimum, I have a "Color Detector" app that will name the color you're pointed at (like the full name "robin's egg blue", etc). Some video games have a color-blind mode, seems like it would be straight-forward to get a camera feed and then apply a video game shader to remap the colors to a color-blind spectrum
@pileofstuffКүн бұрын
I have several colourblind helper" apps on my phone. They often disagree, and none of them are good at very small things (like resistor colour bands)
