I'm so glad you posted this. In my memory of Jana Vendt in this interview, particularly on the question of 'why femimists have no sense of humour about themselves' was a lot more hostile but she was actually really good. Thanks again.

Thanks, he copped enough hostility elsewhere, I'd say. I guess she wished to stay amicable and above it.

Thanks for this one too!! The 'excrementitious' remark he refers to here was from an Irish TV show where the interviewer was Gay Byrne, who died just recently. Re the wife stabbing question, and how he says that nearly every interviewer asks about it, well that's not how I remember the Mailer interviews I've seen down through the years. Generally it's never brought up, to a degree where I assumed Mailer told the interviewers from the outset 𝓃𝑜𝓉 to ask him about it; in fact the only times it 𝘸𝘢𝘴 brought up, and answered, albeit abstractly, was by Charlie Rose & David Frost. ....Again, thanks for the upload. I enjoyed this one a lot more than the other interview, mostly because it was a conversation and not a grilling. May I ask you if you have more Mailer videos coming down the pike?

Thanks for the notes. The original videos actually belong to a friend, upon who's request, I've uploaded them. I don't recall the stabbing incident being raised so frequently either, at least not in the interviews that I've seen or heard, but it does of course haunt at least some of his major works, inclusive of An American Dream and The Executioner's Song. Despite my earlier comment, I do have to say that Wendt gives a more relaxed interview than Isaacs. There are no more videos in the pipeline, sorry, but in case you're not aware, the following sites are a great resource, with links to further interviews, especially the Mailer Society Podcast: normanmailersociety.org/ projectmailer.net/pm/Norman_Mailer:_Works_and_Days All's good here, thanks also.

@@andrewd.3966 Thanks for the links. Yes, I am aware of TNMS ~ it's a great resource ~ and speaking of An American Dream, they just added The American Dream Letters which was an interesting companion to the novel...Again, thanks for the links....
