How important is the Prince William and Kate Middleton US trip to the Royals? | Palace Confidential. I always enjoy your fair delivery of News about the Royal Family. But I call BS on the story about Lady SH. This story is a setup to discredit the Royal Family and Lady SH, who worked for the Queen for 60 years. It has been discovered on her Social Media. This individual who accused Lady SH of " Racism " is herself Racist towards the Royal Family. End of story

It’s exhausting that Lady Hussey feels the need to resign, but that convo has been “remembered” rather than recorded, with Camilla apparently so nearby to them when it occurred. My first thought was whether the volunteers had been suggested several conversation topics, including where folks are from. I’m Jewish, American and white and people have asked me many times throughout my life if I’m Italian or Mexican, presumably to figure out “where I’m from…” I don’t flip out about it. I’d bet the convo wasn’t quite as drawn out or dramatic as has been reported-Lady Hussey was so incredibly close to the queen. Cmon-I seriously doubt she’s racist. People are so quick to cancel everyone these days. Ridiculous. Thank you to the three of you for covering this beautifully. PS I think that William jumping on her was clearly linked to H & M’s love story/docudrama/RF slasher teaser/movie

I am 73 years old, I have worked in Tanzania for over 30 years. I confess I always ask where a person is from, I want to know if he or she speaks Swahili so I can continue the conversation in Swahili. It has nothing to do with racism but with interest in the particular person. I have had great conversations and made friends in the process.

On the day my 89 year old mother moved into a nursing home, she was introduced to her personal support worker, a black woman with braids, an accent and an unusual name, in my mother's experience. Mom's first question was "Where are you from." This kind and caring woman graciously told us that she and her husband and children had arrived in Canada from Nigeria in the middle of winter - to a city that is regarded as one of the coldest in Canada. It was a perfect thing to tell my mom, who spent 60+ years in the north. This woman showed absolutely no offence, understanding my mother's natural curiosity. I was grateful for the opportunity for mom to make an instant connection that she'd otherwise might not have had.

As a 75 year old English woman I grew up knowing that ‘Sticks and stones may break my bones, but names will never hurt me’. This incident had no name calling, just Lady Hussey, trying to make polite conversation with someone unknown to her, and she was just doing her best to put the visitor at her ease. How this young woman, supposedly second or third generation British, can be traumatised by such an encounter astonishes me. It is a very sad reflection on society today that something as trivial as this can be blown out of all proportion. A few years ago it would have been recognised as an innocent faux pas and dealt with gently, quietly and with grace. It saddens me to think that somebody who is the chairman of such a charity should be so uncharitable to someone who has spent her life supporting others.

Asking 'where are your people from' is actually meaning 'what is your ancestry' and to me indicates a desire to know more about you. When you dress with your traditional clothing or dress and go out, I think you can almost count on someone asking you about that, where you come from, what your background is, etc. I am Ukrainian for instance; if I wore traditional Ukrainian dress, I would fully expect someone to ask me about my heritage, etc. Therefore, when you arrive wearing African colours, clothing, jewelry, and headdress, I think you'd be daft to think that nobody would ask you about your ethnicity based on that. On top of that, given the fact that the Lady Is of a certain generation, again, I think you might well expect her to ask some questions, simply in striking up conversation. Sometimes people might just ask questions about your background in an effort to learn more about the place and traditions you might be proud of and celebrate. The conversation could well have gone in that direction, rather than the direction someone chose to view it in. (Just putting in my 2 cents worth). Luv from Canada as always, ❤️🇨🇦❤️

As a person who was abused in the 50s because my family were not made in UK. This seems the problem of the accusers not Lady Susan. She was in conversation with this person who I understand was dressed in African attire, I would probably have asked the same questions. Why because I am interested, because I love talking to people from different cultures. I am sure Lady Susan did not mean this in any detrimental mannor. I do it all the time I am just interested in people.

I have received the same question from black, colored and African too and I am sure NF would have received the same question if she says she hasn't then clearly she is lying. Have you taken a look at Ngozi's past tweets about the RF. The queen invited her, what is racist about??. She stated that she stood in a corner for the rest of the evening but she can be seen mingling. As an American, I'm not particularly a monarchist, and as a New Yorker, I call it as it is - we call out bullsh!t. BUT William and Catherine have brought the BIGGEST ECO-PRIZE in the HISTORY OF THE WORLD over to Boston and we WELCOME THEM with open hearts! William and Catherine are hard workers who are the REAL DEAL who don't cut pies for an hour and then don't do anything for a couple of months. No, they do the hard work of being a Royal every day and don't let anything get in their way. The incident with Hussey just proves that William has a ZERO TOLERANCE for racism and everyone has an old person in their lives (whether she had malice in her heart or not) who just doesn't get how to be politically correct. It's a hiccup for William and Catherine's visit - and it doesn't overshadow it at all. She resigned, they accepted so let's FUHGEDDABOUDIT and move on to the IMPORTANT issue at hand - GLOBAL WARMING! We can't help but love William and Catherine, real good folks who are genuine and generous. William is going to be a BADASS KING one day! Your daughter's answer would not be questioned more than once as the reception guest's answer was. Whites like us need to try to learn that our situation with regard to general social treatment is generally much more mindful of our human dignity than the treatment accorded to stereotyped people of color in a largely white society. Whites know that we often stereotype and discriminate against one another in unjust, painful ways based on our ethnicity, class, faith gender, and gender orientation, etc. Given that racist stereotyping adds an intense layer of challenge to the lives of our fellow citizens, why do so many us almost wilfully refuse to expand our consciousness and empathy and work on that basis for change?

My two cents worth opinion. Sad to hear Lady Hussey resigned over this matter. After more than 60 years of service one would expect more appreciation and support from the RF. If she had worked in the public sector she would have retired and given a gold watch after 50 years of loyal service. Also sad to hear that Prince Edward is not going to be given the title Duke of Edinburgh as per his parents wishes. I note that Prince Edward and Sophie, Countess of Wessex and Forfar have been quietly working hard for the RF. Kudos to them for doing their duty. Enjoyed watching today's episode for a truthful expanation and opinions.

Lady SH apologized when she realized she offended the woman. Also, this was an event for women of different cultures and backgrounds. I’m sure many woman were very much sharing their backgrounds. This woman wore full African dress and yet didn’t know which African dress she wore. She was also wearing a wire. It seems to me she was waiting for a moment to call out anyone. She has very much called out the royals saying they are racists many times without any claim behind it

I thought Stephanie Takyi spoke so well and moderated her speech so that no sides were taken, but an intelligent opinion was put across . Gyles Brandreth's recalling the episode of Prince Philip at the dinner was so relevant. I hope Ngozi enjoys her 15mins of fame for belittling an 83yr old woman on social media rather than dealing with it directly with the palace.

I have taught many mixed race children. I have even asked the same question. It is a way to learn about others. The parents have been very proud to tell me. My school had ancestry days. So the parents have thrown themselves into it. It’s a TEACHABLE moment. I agree that the one lady had her personal space invaded. BUT again there is an adult way to tell someone. Grandma always said…how can you say that without sounding ugly! I could almost bet the farm that she was a paid plant by the HARKLES camp. So sad. Don’t forget that Lady Hussey was asked to help MEMEGAIN. but she told Lady Hussey she didn’t need her. So she was on the hit list of those who told her NO or got in her way!!! Just take a look at all those who they have smeared. RICHARD….. AMERICANS ARE PRO BRITISH!!! How dare you group us with those brats!!

Curious: Fulani (Fulɓe people) are one of the largest ethnic groups in the Sahel and West Africa, widely dispersed across the region. Inhabiting many countries, they live mainly in West Africa and northern parts of Central Africa, South Sudan, Darfur, and regions near the Red Sea coast in Sudan - according to wiki. Is this whole Fulani situation staged?

It absolutely was, Marlene Headley is a black woman born in Britain. She has changed her name using I believe two tribal names to be known as Ngozi Fulani. She furthermore is an ardent anti-monarchist who has claimed that Meghan Markle was a domestic violence victim from her in laws (nothing speaks DV more than your father-in-law walking you down the aisle). She attended this event as the guest of another charity and went in African dress. And is now claiming she was traumatised from what happened. I have no doubt whatsoever that she went there to hob nob with people she believes committed domestic violence with the intent to cause as much trouble as possible. The only person likely traumatised by this event is Lady Hussey an elderly woman who has committed her life to the service of the Royal family. And now at the end of her life has been forced to leave in disgrace 😡 I find Marlene to be a disgusting individual who seems to think because she is black we all must "know" (by telepathy?) she is British while she denies her British name for an African one and dresses to emphasise her "heritage"!!!! I'm tired of these professional victims having everything their own way however hypocritical or ridiculous their claims are.....🤬

In my opinion, that conversation with Lady Susan Hussey has been completely blown out of all proportion. I have faced similar questions. Sometimes when people ask me where I am from, I say, “Oregon.” Other times, I sense that they are asking a different question. I am somewhat ethnically, ambiguous and people are curious as to my ethnic background. If I sense the person is curious about that I will answer, “My paternal grandfather was Mexican.” This has happened to me so frequently that I don’t think anything of it, and always try to give the person the information they are seeking. I think the kind of person that would take offense at those kinds of questions is very immature, or is simply looking to be offended.

Question: I heard on an Australian News site that the title Duke of Edinburgh title is to go to Princess Charlotte “because the King doesn’t want the hereditary title to go down Prince Edward’s line when the next generations will be far from main royals.” Is there a way to say that title can go to Edward as planned but be returned to the Crown upon Prince Edward and Sophie’s passing (God willing many MANY years from now!) As someone who has been insulted on my race, religion, creed…I hope somehow Lady H and the woman who was hurt can maybe come together and talk it out once the redness of this hurt on both sides ebbs. If we all talk our hurt out we heal. Otherwise the pain just continues. Good show! Love a double dose of Richards.
