I am in my 70s. My house is quiet and does not demand much from me. As I watch younger women with children I enjoy the memories it stirs. I have found happiness in each stage of my life. My family has grown up but has not left us alone. The love we share with our grown children and our grand kids is our greatest wealth. It will be different when they are adults but it will still be wonderful.

As a mom of kids who are 35, 26 and 24, I can tell you that the years are sometimes long but fly by! When the kids are little, they require a lot of physical energy and as they grow, it becomes more mental energy. I absolutely loved raising our children but I can’t say I miss them being little. They are amazing adults who make me proud every day! And now I get to be a Grammie to two little, precious boys! I watch them and get to be an integral part of their lives, which I wouldn’t trade for the world! Life is ever changing but in good ways. ♥️

I’m 10:37min into your video and I had to stop before you fully read the next reel. I’m here at 53 feeling like yesterday I was 35. Our last child is 19, we homeschooled all three of them. Well, really I did the homeschooling and my hubby worked. He gave me a watch when our first child graduated like a nod from when company’s gave their employees when they retired. But since we had two more to graduate he got me a watch that has the background of a composition book with an apple and pencil. I loved it so much! Now our eldest is about to turn 30 in May. I do remember never sitting or being still. I am also a perfectionist and kept our house like Monica, lead a group of 27 other homeschool moms in a support group, had kids in sports, etc while I was dealing what was thought to be MS. Later it was discovered that I have a mitochondrial disease, which is where energy is. So it’s like living with unbelievable exhaustion and pain. Think of it like having something electrical that is not plugged in. But I was going nonstop and around 3x/yr I’d be hospitalized for a week. When our almost 9 year old second son started showing symptoms like me I was very scared he also had MS. He was admitted to a Children’s Hospital and they were able to discover he had a mitochondrial disease (easy to look up Mitochondrial disease to understand. The neurologist suggested that we have our other children tested. Yep, they had it,too. Then I asked my doctor to test me and that’s when they discovered that I did not have MS but the Mito disease. But we pushed forward in all of life, just now adding not only myself in and out of doctors but now our 3 kiddos. Now at 53, it’s real hard being at midlife. Nobody talks about women having midlife crisis (at least no one told us Gen X). It’s beautiful and amazing to still be madly in love with my high school sweetheart as we approach our 33rd anniversary! But I do look back and think, wow! That went by quickly. I see young mommas walking around and see my younger self. As parenting goes from those younger years when you’re welding like a chicken with its head cut off and yes, exhausted, yet happy and all that you feel when your kids are younger. But my goodness the world has gone mad and as parents there is soooo much that your generation has to have your head on a swivel because there is sooo much out there ready to devour kids. So keep fighting the good fight, keep enjoying them in sports and all the great things!! But also get ready because three level chess is coming. My two boys are 8 & 10 years older than our daughter and whoa did the world drastically change just between that age gap. Work hard to keep your marriage first! Go out on date nights, take small trips alone together even while kids are younger, go on Mom’s night out with other moms ( NOt moms gone wild. LOL but in the manner of iron sharpens iron), that time fostering good friendships with other good women is great for you. You then have MORE to give your kids. It’s just wild to me to be at the point of our youngest 19, seeing a couple grey hairs on my head, yada yada yada! It’s like that Trace Atkins song called You’re Gonna Miss Thiis. Love ya Kim! Hope this offered something to another woman between young momma and midlife momma! I think I forgot to mention how stinking proud I am of my children and what an enjoyment it is seeing them at ages that my hubby and I were. God is good and life is good! 👍

I am 55 and a grandma of 3 boys and mom of 6. My house is always clean but it's quiet. The kids have all grown up and have begun their new lives and are happy and independent ( this was the goal). They are busy now but they still make time for us and they all the most interesting people I know. Do I miss it when they were little? YES but if I keep pining for those days I will miss the ones I am living in right now

I hear every word you say about time flying, I feel as if I just took my oldest to start school now he’s 41 this year. I’m sat here with his baby boy who isn’t feeling very well and had everyone up all night so he’s going to get checked. We are empty nesters with 3 adults gone, buuutttt I now have 11 grandkids who are here every day in 2’s and 3’s. Just know that when your time comes you will experience a love you never knew you could feel for anyone but your kids but grandkids are the cherry on the cake xx

Omg, Kim, the video just started and you’re already making me cry! My oldest just turned 13 on Tuesday and it was a bitter/sweet day. I took her to the mall to get the purple Converse high tops she wanted from Journeys and I was tearing up on the drive remembering how I took her to the same mall to get her first pair of shoes from Stride Right😩 Also, “ tea” is what people in some parts of England call the evening meal.

Girl I loveeee your cleaning videos. I get so much done and it triggers my brain to think of new things to do. I'm soooo jealous of your changing pad. I know you got it on Market Place or somewhere for a great deal I think. I wish you lived closer because I know you're not going to need it much longer. Ever since you got it I've replaced mine twice. The regular pads just don't last in family child care. UGH!! I want to thank you for today's video because I got two huge bags for Goodwill. Yahoo... Less to manage. lol Hope you all have a great weekend!! Thanks again for all you do. You really are such an inspiration!!

I don’t know what to do…I’m 44 and have had one of my boys with me everyday since I was 18 years old! 💚I really wish I had enjoyed all the things as they happened instead of wishing them away..like I wish they were old enough to get their own snack or old enough to help me clean or drive or whatever. Kim, your readings have me in tears, these words about cherishing the moment and time we are in does not only apply to our children, it also applies to our parents. I lost my precious mother in December and the pain is so real. She was my best friend, not just my mother. If I could have our last day over and hold her hand and just tell her over again how much I love her and how precious she has been in my life . . . . . never take your loved ones' presence in your life for granted.

Hi there Kim, I’m British, in my 70’s the cute little story about what do you want for “tea” is actually exactly describes myself and my husband, it really gave me pause ❤our kids are with families of their own luckily we do see them often. Just a side note. The custom of high tea originated in working class homes, where it was the main meal of the day. Amusingly, it’s usually between 4-5pm and my husband and I have Tea (dinner) ourselves we do not drink tea with our dinner, usually in the evening we’ll have tea and a biscuit. (Cookie) I so love your videos, can’t wait for the next one. You’re such a good Mommy❤😊 forgot to say thank you very much for sharing. So true they don’t remember the dishes and cleaning etc, they remember the times you played, tossed a ball, took them somewhere, movies, had their friends over. And yes, thankfully we had that revolving door and someone extra at our table. We loved it. 😊

Alex is hilarious! At about 38:00 or a little after when you were cleaning your bedroom, he came in the room briefly and did a flex muscle thing and I rewound it just to watch it again! I wish you would have him on your channel more.

loved the vid! I so remember wanting to have my house clean! but I also remember the joy that my kids would have when they made forts out my couch cushions and sheets! not mention the kitchen chairs being pulled into the livingroom so they could expand the fort! Their dad was not a fan, but it kept them occupied so that I could, you know, fix them something to eat without them under my feet! those days are over and I know that my oldest, who is the only one of my kids that have children let his daugther to do the same thing! so, memories! thanks for sharing! xoxo

This reel that u shared made me cry, especially the poem by Emma. I'm an empty nester with 8 grandchildren. That poem made me miss when my kids were young. There is a saying I've seen on Instagram that basically says we love being grandparents and we adore our grandchildren because they are an image of their parent, ur child whom u love.

Beautiful poem, Kim. Wonder if I could get a copy and send it to my daughter...she has two little ones. I am so glad you are patient with the house being messy sometimes. That is wonderful because that means everyone is living in the house and not just passing through. It is a house that's loved.

Such a wonderful video, full of not only cleaning but real thoughts! I think so many of us needed that and can totally relate! Thank you for always sharing your kind words. To add to the inspiration in the comments, “The grass isn’t greener on the other side, the grass is greener where you water it.”

Everything you read is so true!!!we are both retired now and it’s just us and I use to think the way you did when my kids were young! We had no time for us and now we enjoy it so much when the grandkids come around! One day it will be your time ! Looks like it’s time to get rid of the bassinet!!! Oh I’m a big returner, better to have that cash in my pocket than theirs lol

Great discussion today! So true--my youngest graduated from high school last year and our house is so different than when my 4 kids were all home. I miss being a hands-on Mom but I am also thankful they are living their own lives!! So blessed to be a MOM!!

My mom is kind of the same way. She worries so much about her house being clean, and I tell her to leave "the mess" and do something fun. Enjoy life. The mess will be there when she gets back.

Aweeee Kim, 🤗 Unsolicited advice from me. Try not to dwell in the future too much, the empty nest syndrome starts to soon. I did a deep dive when my first son moved out. I know I lost precious moments with the 3 sons still at home. However, I was a helicopter Mom to the core. Actually, I still am one even though my boys are all grown and have families of their own. One thing is certain, they never stop needing Mom! Bless your heart. ♥️

Kim! What are you trying to do to me? I can’t even do my dishes. I’m crying so hard with all the little “mommy messages” you are sharing with us! I am a mom to both the heavens and the Earth (2 this side of heaven) and watching them grow is the slowest heartbreak I have ever endured. 😢😢❤

Feeling all the feels...thank you Kim. It's real, you do miss it. My kids are grown and there are times I wish I could go back to the times when they were my littles; when it was easier and I didn't even know it. However grand-parenting is AMAZING!
