The historic Main Line is so named for the villages and towns that grew up clustered around the stops of the Pennsylvania Railroad as it extended west from Philadelphia. Wealthy families began to move out to the country made accessible by the railroad line and formed affluent and picturesque estates and towns along the route that retain much of their original character to this day. Along the Main Line you will find quaint town centers filled with boutiques and restaurants, leafy college campuses, historic manor estates and horse farms. The Main Line is a truly unique place to visit or to call home.
