Main South Road Duplication: June 2022

Video showing the progress of work on the Main South Road duplication project in the south of Adelaide. This is part of the Fleurieu Connections project. The footage was recorded in June 2022.

Another top infrastructure video Norman. Its a bit dodge to see so many houses fronting the duplication earlier on at the beginning which will limit speeds. Could also be a few more over passes to prevent accidents but great to see the Govt has found the money to do the full duplication.

I was doing some research to see when the earlier part of Main South Road between Victor Harbor Road and Griffiths Driveb was duplicated, but was unable to find even the decade it was done. The style of house shows that they might go back to the 1970s. There is room to move the road further West and service the houses with a separated street, but it's probably not a priority until traffic gets bad enough in this area.

Only downside to this is they are eliminating a few right hand turns north and south. Have to make a lot of locals back track to do a U Turn. Classic engineer's making shit look good on paper
