Why is it I can never find a video of another group that creates harmonics the way you guys do? There are a good number of Main Street vids with tags that leave my ears ringing for a while after but no other quartets seem to be able to do that to me.

hellstrombones7 Try ringmasters. Their tag on the hunchback of notre dame medley was crazy. Also, the most ridiculous overtone I've heard recorded was the vagrants' chordbusters march

Things that factor into it are the chord voicing (which falls on the arranger), the intonation of the quartet (how "in-tune" they are), and the "brightness" of their voices (their timbre). The brightness is literally how loud overtones are in comparison to the fundamental and varies from person to person, but it also varies depending on what vowel you are singing. For example, "eee" is a very bright vowel while the "aah" that doctor's ask for to check your throat is much more mellow. You can also try opening the audio in an audio editing software and amplify it till it clips. That will artificially create brightness so you can hear the overtones more clearly.

They also spend way too uch time delivering lines which reminds us why we are not an acting society, because it never turns out well. For Christ's sake, just sing well. You all can do that.
