I can't put it into words how excellently the music was paired with the moment of Maine's final moments - the pain on David was terrifyingly present, contorting that young face into a hideous represantation of absolute woe at the loss of a friend, a mentor, a father figure.

cyberwares are like drugs, it's an addiction and david and maine all showed severe signs of addiction. maine was thin and weak and barely bones in that flashback, but he was still human and his mental state at that time wasn't great. so he developed an obsession with chrome and started to chrome out beyond his capacity, with little care to his own health or those around him and he knew the risks and saw the signs and yet he refused to stop and turn back. his arm jamming wasn't faulty tech or bad implants, it was a result of loss of control and the sandevistan would have drove him insane in episode 3 if he had it taken from david. then we have david, lost everything his own mom died infront of him and spiraled down into debt and it broke him, he installed the sandevistan out of desperation, felt the power it gave him hence why he laughed after leaving arasaka academy, people thought the first sign david showed of downsides of his implants was when he threw up blood, but no it was when he was laughing after beating up his bully at arasaka academy. right there, we saw the results of an addict having his first high and as we all know, it spiraled down from there, his life got incredibly more messed up and he struggled harder and harder then he met lucy and fell in love and he felt the only way he could protect her was to upgrade and keep going, again showing his reliance on cyberware. eventually overdosing on the cyberware, just like maine, just like smasher. the power trip chrome gives is dangerous, the promise of a better and more successful life, lures the people right in. every junkie i've meet has at one point said "overdose? that'll never happen to me" sounds familiar right? "i'm special, i can take it" Adam smasher, Maine and David, they all said it, they're special yet they all became a prisoner in their own head in the end. this show also shows us how we treat OUR current junkies in our modern dystopian world, we often see them as a result of their own actions and blame them and often mistreat them or discard them but sometimes people who fall to addiction are often just a result of the environment and how the world treated them, how we treat them and view them, sometimes depression and anxiety can cause it, sometimes ptsd, some very traumatic event, just like in cyberpunk. we all saw maine and david right? you think they chromed up just simply to chrome up, or do you think there was some form of desperation in the back of their head screaming for the suffering to stop, in a city built to make you suffer? (sorry for the long list) but reading back on their backstories, to me they just sound like extreme versions of what is already happening in real life.

Quite bitter moment, but whole cyberpsychosis plot unfolded in ONE SINGLE EPISODE and then instantly death. Feels a bit rushed, but perhaps that is how things happen in Night City, one day you know someone, next day their brains smeared across city block for whatever dumb reason and you just go doing your business as usual 😮💨

The whole Edgerunners anime feels rushed. Seems like they had to work with a limited budget and made the most out of it. The series could have easily been twice as long

Was in Walmart, tried to by bread but everyone kept collapsing. Said somthing about remembering a tragedy, must’ve been the carbon monoxide leak

man this scene shows oftentimes the victim accepts their fate long before the one's around them
