LOL! The trolls are certainly coming out from under their rocks about the tent. They simply let people know that the one and only campsite at the end of the path is occupied. It saves people the trouble of making the trek up the hill only to be disappointed. Simple concept that some miserable folks can’t comprehend. Another simple concept is that all troll comments are easily removed immediately with one click and the troll is muted on the channel forever. You can post all the hateful ugly ignorant comments you want but not a single person will see your comments, not even me, but your comments will still count for the algorithm which helps the channel. So you are just wasting your time around here. You are invisible and you don’t even know it.

We know you are going to love that campsite! Thanks for watching and let us know how it went. Don’t forget about Site 125 in our other video. Although not free, it is spectacular!

I applaud you for how neat you keep your campsite, you would never know you were there for 11 days. I have seen so many areas closed over the years because people trashed it, unfortunately many people today have confused primitive camping and boon-docking with squatting. I have found some areas where people have setup camp for months, leaving their trash, furniture and sewage behind when they leave.

Thank you for the nice compliment! We are very concerned about the beautiful boondocking locations being closed down because of noise, trash and destruction, especially since we rely on them extensively for our travels. Thank you for your efforts too to keep these special places open to the public. I applaud you right back!

Yes! We use them everywhere. Otherwise we have this strange curse where people want to camp right next to us even though there is open space for miles around.

Nice! I know you will have a good time! Remember, there are other campsites in that area in case that particular one is taken. The campsite featured in our episode “Site 125” is insanely off the charts good. That one is at Cobscook Bay State Park and is first come first served. Cobscook has a few other first come first served sites that are terrific too. Of course, there is a charge for the state park one but it is soooo sweet!

Subscriber 615 here… I live in Maine and have many secret camping spots.. what is the cell signal booster you use?
@VanLifeByTheRiver
@VanLifeByTheRiver 20 күн бұрын
Hi! Maine is an absolutely beautiful place to get out into the wilds and have some solitude. That signal booster is the WeBoost Drive X RV. We did not get the most powerful booster because the separation of the inside and outside antennas is minimal with a 19 foot van. The WeBoost customer service actually advised me NOT to buy their most expensive unit because they though it might be too powerful for our particular installation. That would cause interference between the two antennas and result in the system not working properly. Ours worked perfectly and allowed us cell data in some extremely remote locations. Now we primarily rely on Starlink not only for internet data but to make WiFi calls on our iPhones. Works great! Thank you for watching!

In your experience, are the campsites on public reserve lands always free? This is a great video, so full of information!

Hi there! What we observed is that the vast majority that we came across were free. However, we did see some that had small fees but those were few and far between. The Great North Woods of Maine are waiting for you. Now get out there and enjoy! Thank you so much for watching and commenting! See you out there.

Can you get a class C up there. If not are there places that we can dry camp?
@VanLifeByTheRiver
@VanLifeByTheRiver 3 жыл бұрын
I don’t think a typical class c would easily be able to go down the skinny dirt road that leads to this particular campsite. You would probably bottom out on the incline transition as well as scratch the sides on the branches. The other sites on Diamond Match Rd. I believe might be better suited but unfortunately I don’t know specifically for those sites. I am sorry I don’t have an exact answer for the other sites. One place that would really suit a class c is Site 125 at Cobscook Bay State Park. Absolutely amazing dry camping site that is non reservable but does cost money. Check out our video “Site 125” which shows this one in detail. It is a special place. Have a plan B in case site 125 is taken when you get there.

@@VanLifeByTheRiver Thanks so much for the info. This will be our first trip to maine and we just bought a class c and look forward to boon docking and exploring with it. We own a pull behind as well. But want to take Class C on this will be the true test. So I thought what we may do is camp at a full hook up location and venture out to primative spots with the class c and leave car at full hook up location. We will use the car at main camp to venture out for small day trips. Loved the video and the rig. Keep making memories.

Nice Video. Did you camp in any other areas in Maines North Woods?
@VanLifeByTheRiver
@VanLifeByTheRiver Жыл бұрын
Thank you! Sorry for the delayed reply. I just now saw your message. Yes, we covered Maine extensively for almost 3 months. We were originally supposed to keep driving North towards Labrador all summer but covid restrictions kept us from entering Canada so we decided to experience Maine to the fullest. We are glad we did because it was an amazing experience. We did travel to and boondock in the Northwoods and there was much less mosquitoes than typical that summer. We were just discussing earlier tonight about making another Labrador attempt. The idea is to drive the van as far North as possible until we can’t go another foot. We shall see if we decide to go next spring/summer/fall. Thank you for watching and commenting!
