It's neat to hear the chirrup in it's natural context (being used by mom as a kind of half-purr to reassure her kittens that she is nearby, even when they're still very young and blind). Most people are probably more familiar with that noise as an informal greeting noise from their own cats. Mine give me eye contact and a low chirrup several times a day. It'd be super weird for them to address another cat that way. That, along with meowing, are adaptations for human benefit.

Cats never developed a need to talk to each other. Their talking was developed for the sake of communicating with humans. She is saying to the camera person 'Look how gorgeous my kittens are. I'm so happy'.

Kinda nice that kittens know to go to water when Mom isn’t feeling like nursing. My Bella, must have both front feet in the water dish while drinking. She’s done it ever since she was a baby. She 14 now and still does it. Weirdo!

What beautiful sweet babies... ALL of them- just precious... I love animals-- and one day had a repair guy see me talking to and loving on mine- and said " what's wrong with you- they're JUST CATS"---- he spent the next 5 days in a CRITICAL CARE unit!!!

I love all of this! 😻 I especially love how Freya’s “mrrrrp”/“mrrrrrrUP!” sounds exactly like my MC Harvey when he’s all excited and playing with/chasing his sister Nikita (both 2 years old)! (He also goes to a “mrrrrrr-raaaoooow!” and even a multi-tonal “mrr-RAAA-roow?” She’s not even 6kg to his 10kg, and her voice is much higher pitched (which is very cute! But very startling when it comes out of nowhere 😂). She also has different things to say - she has very conversational high-pitched mrrrps (aimed at both me and him), and when she’s playing with a toy by herself and either pouncing/preparing to pounce, she has a much more definitive “mrr-RA!”, which I like to think is a feline “hiii-yaah!” ninja-attack 😸 Plus her “mrr-RA-RA!” to me, which is usually a sign that she wants to play (but sometimes that she wants food… but she mostly leaves Harvey to sing the song of their people for that 😸

Im puzzled by Frey's conversation..i thought initially she was just wanting to wake up Ada and Leo to insure they were ok.
