I was born and raised in Waterville. I sure miss it. My entire family was born in Waterville. They lived on Kennebec Street in the 50's-60's-70's. An amazing life they had. My grandfather Pierre Lacombe was an engineer for Hathaway on Kennebec River. Today I believe it is apartments. Sadly, Hathaway which employed hundreds of Mainers went out of business. My grandmother played Piano at the Opera House several times & for her Church. She was amazing. One of my fondest memories was going to my grandparents CAMP on Belgrade Lakes in the summer months. Us kids had a wonderful time swinging off ropes tied to a tree limb in to the lake. Boating and fishing. The mosquitoes sucked and black flies but, we got through it. Maine sure has had to reinvent itself since those quiet, lazy days. I tried returning to Waterville in 1996 but, didn't last. Sadly. I returned to Malibu, California. I didn't wish to but, things happen! Changes were too many. CONGRATULATIONS on MaineLife....looks very interesting. We have been in the film business for 27 years in Hollywood: RAMBO, last Blood. Expendables. Million Dollar Baby and 167 others. I work with Student Filmmakers these days at USC Film school and BIOLA U. 'Learning Curve, Emily Homoki' youtube. Yes, that's me playing the Old Magician with a 60's camera trying to sell it. First scene. Lots of fun working with future filmmakers. Emily was turning it in for her Final at school. Great job she did directing. Take care everyone. Bless you all. Bless Maine & The MaineLife. Psalm 46:10
