Really enjoyed this series, thank you! Would love to see your thoughts on stringing to the inside and also a tutorial for the stallion omega, as I've just strung a stallion up to the inside

Can you do a stringing tutorial walkthrough of you stringing it on camera because I don’t know what a float or pull or anything you said is

Eventually I will likely do some walkthrough tutorials, but for now check out my "How To String A Sidewall" video I recently posted.

how does this change for your pocket that you made for the little dudes if at all?
@mainelymesh4 жыл бұрын
So my pocket in the ID Vision actually follows the same structure; it was the design of the head overall that was more catered towards a younger player (slightly wider, creates a slightly less deep/lower whip pocket). It's a pretty subtle difference that was really only to cater to the U8 player, though they would probably be fine with the setup in the video. If you check out pictures of the factory strung ID Vision vs. Z One you should be able to see the similarities/slight differences.

Do you ever try a 10 diamond topstring if you can't quite get the pocket placement you'd like? I remember your original Tactik reviews saying how you couldn't quite get the pocket to sit where you would like. Wouldn't using a 10 diamond topstring theoretically allow you to adjust the pocket a "half" diamond? Lately in some heads I've been using an 8 diamond topstring (using the 10 diamond row, but not the 2 outer diamonds), since 10 diamonds is usually too wide.

Nailed it! I don't do it very often any more out of laziness, but it's a great technique.

what would the formula be for a mid-high to high pocket?

Great stuff. Question - I have a 9 yr boy who loves to face off and play the field so I bought him the StringKing fo head. I am trouble finding a good pattern. It’s so skinny that it lends itself to a high pocket but I am trying to make it without crazy whip. Any thoughts? I tried using your double up but still can’t get it right. Thanks.

I’m not a huge fan of si or ssi knots. Can I use 1s and 2s instead? Same general idea?

Absolutely!

Chris, i’m assuming that the 4 pull down knots are what you called anchor knots in your side wall video. But you said you never use it past the 2nd 10- Diamond row. Am I missing something?
@mainelymesh3 жыл бұрын
I use "pull down" as a blanket term that includes both anchor knots and KSIs. Essentially its just whenever we're actively pulling tension through the mesh, versus stacks/ones/etc that are more about forming a pocket. Good clarification; sometimes I say things that make sense in my head without ever explaining them!

Hey Chris what’s your opinion on adding more whip and hold as you progress as a player. I want to start getting mo powa behind my shots and I also want a little more hold because low whip isn’t really working anymore
@mainelymesh4 жыл бұрын
Now this is just my opinion, but part of what I'm saying in this video is that this pocket should be able to provide you as much power as you could ever need while at the same time providing you with consistency and quick passes AND will work for both young and old. There is a TON of technique to gaining power on your shots, and as this is a more gear-based channel I don't address it as often here. Long story short, I personally don't believe that you need to add whip as you grow.

I know it’s a small thing but how do you get the end of your mesh to curl up like that because I find when I’m dodging I sometimes grab the mesh since it isn’t curled up.

It just sort of happens? Maybe check out my throat string tutorial, give it a go, and see if that helps?

How would you string a mid pocket for an ultrapower, I’m stringing like I normally string a mid pocket but it keeps dragging the pocket down

another question for ya, i just strung up my new epoch z one with hero 3.0 and hero strings, is the pocket suppose to be that shallow? ik hero 3.0 takes a while to break in but the pocket it super shallow
@andreburnetta63713 жыл бұрын
and i strung it with the "perfect pocket"
@mainelymesh3 жыл бұрын
Hero 3.0 is a pretty tight mesh, so honestly if you try to replicate my pocket with Hero in a Z-one it's gonna be a bit shallow. I use Stringer's shack G3 XL Ultralight

Topstring tied to the second sidewall hole, first 10d row tied to the 4th, skip, skip, ak, skip, skip, ksi, skip, ksi, ksi, skip, Stacked si, tie, 1 skip, 1 skip, 1 skip to tie off.
