Hi John. These demos are the best. One question mate. Why eliminate the loop, by the hook. Surely, a small loop would aid the spin ??. I would love your answer to this. Please keep them coming. Superb
@MainlineBaitsCarpFishingTV4 жыл бұрын
Hi David, the swivel the hook is attached too, and the swivel on the hook to which the hookbait is attached ensures that the hook spins between the two swivels quickly, so there's no need for extra movement that could see the hook not spin to grab hold quite as quickly. Glad you're enjoying the video's!

I belive its better to put the swivel through the hook eye the other way round ,if for any reason the swivel end finds its way throught the kicker/shrink tube you could cause mouth damage to the fish ,in effect you could have two hook holds. Doing it the other way ensures nothing can go wrong and the mechnics of the rig are the same

Would this work with a bit screw and with a knot instead of crimping?
@MainlineBaitsCarpFishingTV4 жыл бұрын
Hi, you could use knots to create a boom section, but a bait screw may not give the same movement as the micro rig ring i.e. let the hook spin and turn between the swivel above it with the hookbait and the spinner swivel below.

Can this rig be used in conjunction with solid pva bags John ?

There's no reason why it couldn't be when tied shortly, but a soft braid is the preferred hooklink for solid PVA bags - supple to sit okay within a tightly formed bag.

@MainlineBaitsCarpFishingTV4 жыл бұрын
Hi Jamie, I've not used Chod Link before so not entirely sure - if you can tie a figure-of-eight-loop-knot at each end then yes. With an attachment loop (and anti-tangle sleeve) at the end of the boom section you can attach the rig to quick change swivels and use the rig with a corresponding leadclip or helicopter style on the leader above the lead.

Hey John great video 👍🎣, was just wondering why an anti tangle sleeve is being used on this rig as the boom material is already super stiff and plenty stiff enough to kick the hook bait away from the lead on casts and ejections without the use of an anti tangle sleeve , I’d understand if a more subtle braid or material was being used as the hook link then I’d understand it’s purpose.
@MainlineBaitsCarpFishingTV4 жыл бұрын
Hi Joe, I like to attach my rigs to a quick change swivel where possible, so like an anti tangle sleeve as it covers all of this over for neatness, but when using the rig with a lead clip it also ensures the rig falls out in front of my leader/line/tubing instead of potentially falling back on top of the leader.

@MainlineBaitsCarpFishingTV4 жыл бұрын
@@lukephillips6577 Hi Luke, leadcore is fine when used it the right way and correct situation with one very important aspect being that the lead must be able to easily fall away from the leader should it become cut off from your main line i.e. by using a lead clip system or Heli Safe lead release system. Now lead core is designed to keep this section of line/tackle down, close to the lakebed so as not to spook fish visiting the area. These days anti-tangle tubing also does a very good job in achieving this, especially if you choose a heavy tungsten variety. So if you're a little nervous to use lead core just yet I'd suggest using tubing for now as in most cases it won't inhibit your potential catch rate at all. Meaning you'll continue to learn the many aspects of fishing for carp safely and most likely fully understand and be able to identify the times when lead core can benefit your approach. I hope this helps and good luck!

not sure why you need a kicker in this rig. it has no connection to the angle of the line as the ring of the swivel allows for a lot of change in direction on the line... so the line wont be pulling on the hook at an angle? Or am i missing something?
@MainlineBaitsCarpFishingTV4 жыл бұрын
Joshua Rin Hi Joshua, apart from increasing the claw-like angle and hooking potential of the hook, the main function of the kicker is to cover the join between the hook and spinner swivel meaning it stays in a secure position without any risk of the hook falling off the swivel.
